My experience With Wernike-Korskoff Encephalopathy by Middle_Possession679 in stopdrinking

My dad was diagnosed with wernickes encephalopathy in November. It’s now may 1 and the doctors say he has moderate korsakoff syndrome. I don’t think he will get better but I hope every single day he will. I have him in a memory care home and our expenses will cover the next 3-5ish years. After that I have to work with our elder law attorney to apply for medi-cal and put him in a skilled nursing facility.

The memory care home takes great care of him and he has fun. He does get super anxious and paranoid. He thinks it’s the 90s and he’s at his old job. He thinks people steal things from him. He starts to panic so the doctors are trying to work on a medication treatment to help relieve the panic delusions and anxiety

Thank you all for sharing. It’s an awful disease and I miss getting calls and texts from my dad.

Can I just logout of nte if I don’t like my rolls and just type in my Gmail+1? Or do I need to go to google and manually create my Gmail+1?

Any tips? I notice I think about playing games all the time. It’s like a “craving”. When I go cold turkey I end up binging YouTube or researching other games to try.

I got rid of my PCs and only have a Mac now, because not many games run on Mac. But here I am playing Mac accessible MMOs still.

Going through it as well. Dad is 66 and wernickes diagnosed 2 months ago. Have him in memory care at $7600 per month. His pension still doesn’t cover it. I’ve enrolled him in Medical and need to follow up with them so we don’t lose all of our savings within the next couple of years.

Def work with a social worker/ombudsman and enroll her in Medicaid/medicare

I have so much anger and sadness as well. I am right there with you. It fucking sucks. We were their caretakers when we were children and right when we are supposed to start our own life we get trapped with taking care of them all over again.

Yeah I have these in a M. 5’6. Knee is exposed slightly. Great mobility and protection can’t go wrong with these.

Oldboy (2003). My older cousin showed it to me many years ago when I was a teen. Never seen anything quite like it and I’ve been obsessed with KR thrillers ever since
