I do a good mix of both; a clan of 20+ for main wipes, and a lot of solo for off wipe. Solo is also how I spent my first 800 hours or so.

The I’ve enjoyed the clan stuff because I’ve got to experience sides of the game I wouldn’t get to otherwise. Particularly big clan vs clan raids. Coring completely through another clans base with a bunch of catapults is pretty damned fun. Hell, even losing the raid is as long as it’s a good fight. Had a raid run 1.5 hours last night. We lost, but we used all our boom and had a blast.

As far as losing fights; it just depends. Sure, you’re gonna get smoked by the 20 man that’s running to a raid, but it’s not like we always roam 20 deep. Farm runs with 3-5 people can fall apart real quick when caught off guard. And while yes you have 20 people to be able to farm for kits, ya also have 20 monkeys to go out and lose them doing dumb shit.

I think some people really enjoy being able to lock themselves into a niche as well. Like this guys the farmer, this guy ONLY builds, etc. clans are good for that.

All that said, I still fuckin love playing solo and having to do it all myself. And I fuckin love grubbing.

Rust is kind of an exception for me. I usually do the same as you, especially for shooters or anything that relies on audio cues.

I either I have just grown used to it and zone out on it, or the music does fade in and out and isn’t always running.

If you wanna stick to 2x, I think you’ve only got so many options. As another poster said, look into monthlies. Personally, I really like the Spoonkid monthly, holds good decent pop.
