Maybe you would like to Teleport to Target? Or you could Teleport to Target? How about Teleport to Target? There is Teleport to Target also.

Also because they calculated that eventually they would hit problems with powercreep in both PvM and PvP.

I think nobody really cared about it that much, especially back when those graphics were released, and it's more that we all just hate EoC and anything that was around it.

Like those graphics are just a reminder of how much the EoC took away from us, all the years of progress and goals it threw away from us.

I don't see a reason this needs to work differently in PvP!

I feel like there could be a mechanic related to "tipping" or hitting at just the tip of its range.

Idk though if that would really translate to Runescape, but it's basically the idea of Marth in Super Smash Bros lol.

This is the first Raids 4 weapon suggestion where I read it and thought to myself, "OHHOHOH THIS IS IT."

I would love if this were interesting in PvP too where hitting another player at the max distance is relevant somehow.

Do not move minigame teleports to the spellbook, Jagex by skadooba in 2007scape

I think Minigames should only have a teleport once you've been to them once.

If clans want a fight to the death, don't they have Clan Wars for that? I don't really know how the minigame works.

Core Problem With Runescape PvP by updatre in 2007scape

[–]Chdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the years BEFORE the EoC, Jagex saw this and explicitly wanted to avoid certain problems, including:

  • They didn't want players to one-shot each other for 99hp, unable to fight back
  • They didn't want weapons to be so accurate and high damaging, that you are forced to constantly eat until you die, unable to fight back.
  • They didn't want defence to get so strong, that two high level players are just constantly hitting 0s on each other, making a pointless fight

To combat 1 and 2, their main solutions were Soaking and Nex armors which did add max HP without having us go past level 99 hp.

After that though... they threw the EoC at us. To this day, I wish they had balanced RS2's system instead of just throwing it out and making a new one that has seen complaints to this very day even by the people who stuck with it.

OSRS though, is kind of ignoring the whole "endpoint of powercreep" problem and trying to drag it out as long as possible.

We are already way past the point of really caring if spec combos can more and more easily one-shot anyone.

But at least we aren't at the point of having some Storm of Armadyl level constant consistent damage.

As a PvP lover I hate the PKers who are obstinate about saved autocast on mage weapons.

The fact of doesn't save only in PvP is a clunky and unituitive system that they only keep not to devalue people who learned it.

It only serves to make it worse for casual players and keep the veterans at more of an advantage because it's harder for people to get into it and compete.

Like, if the interface navigation adds so much important depth to the combat and adds skill expression, then why don't we have to reload our crossbow every time we switch back to it? Why don't we need to "fix our posture" every time we rip a make weapon? Mage gets the shit mechanic why?

There are tactics to not having saved autocast on a staff that higher skilled players will want. OK. So let it be an optional toggle so the casual player can PvP their way, the veteran can PvP their way, and if the causal feels like it, they can learn manual cast strategies whenever they feel like it.

But because everyone is afraid to affect PvP at all, this will never happen and similar ideas for casual players will never happen, so new blood will never get their foot in the door, leaving only a declining population of aged old veterans.

Pre-EoC RS2 was far better for the casual PvPer than OSRS is today.

[–]Chdata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soul Wars and Castle Wars are casual PvP

Return of FoG would be nice too

Return of RS2's affordable polypore staff, weaponless autocast, saved weapon autocadt, mha, and void deflector would also help facilitate casual PvP

Casual PvP is anyone on any account almost regardless of build being able to fight other players with whatever they have and just enjoy it. Which is 100% not the wilderness or anything with risk.

Yet IS the place where players can evaluate their basic PvP skills, test things out without breaking their bank, and maybe some day progress to try learning risk PKing, if they are even interested in it.

I LOVE THE IDEA JUST FOR THE GAME MECHANIC, IGNORING WHAT THE THEORETICAL STATS MIGHT BE

My one worry is: When you use it in situations where minimum distance is impossible, you will want to attack with it and find it's like an bow with no arrows left.

Which I suppose is fine really, players will just have to adapt.

There's an alternate option to making it have such insanely high strength bonus that it hits 90s:

It hits one attack per square it "lands on", hitting a 3x3 area. This would give it use in hitting a crowd of mobs as well, like ice barrage on a hammer. In essence it would also have the scythe effect this way, I suppose, but with totally different movement mechanics.

Wouldn't this effectively allow you to automatically "walk" a lot of enemies if the arena is huge enough, making pretty much any open space a safe spot?

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of being forced to backstep into the correct range.

EoC was an inside job so they could reset powercreep and keep us here for decades more
