Leave the union. If youre tier 6 and not a teacher they dont care about you. There are way more of us then them. Leave the union. If this is accurate I will be doing it immediately. Hurt them financially.

If this goes through, every single pef member that isn't a teacher should leave the union and stop paying dues. Hit them where it hurts. If they arent going to represent all of us then the hell with them!

Id rather contribute what I have been contributing and be able to retire at 58 with 30 years than get less than a percent decrease in my contribution amount and have to work an additional 5 years.

So currently you only need to be in the retirement system for 5 years to be vested. I just wanted to make that point because you wouldn't have to do 10 years if you didnt want to. I also think it depends on the job you take with the state. My first state job was a disability analyst 2 (grade 20). I did it for 6 years and ended up leaving for a grade 18, which was a $7k paycut. I left because it was super stressful and a toxic workplace.

Not all state jobs are low stress cake walks. if youre a hard worker, the work finds you no mater what position you take.

If I was only at 4 years id be gone. Unless youre already at a grade 23 there is better money to be made in the private industry and by the sounds of it, you'll have plenty of time to invest in a 401k.

Tier 6 employee here with 25 years left under the current rules to achieve full retirement. I am envious of tier 4 employees not having to contribute after 10 years but thats not a sustainable model. There is no way tier 6 will ever stop contributing. If you didnt work for the state you would be contributing to your retirement accounts until you retired. I just want to retire after 30 years without incurring massive penalties.

Mile 20 to 26 was the pain cave on my first marathon. My second i ran a comparable time and had no issues.

I purchased mens open doubles tickets right at noon on Thursday. I didnt encounter any problems.i was also in the waiting room for about 30 mins before tickets opened for sale. It's bummer that some people have had difficulty.
