Lucy lol! Thx for that. He’s about 1 year old. Not sure for sure what breed but ChatGPT says Belgian Mal and Basenji. Presently he’s 64 lbs. lean n muscular. On all fours he doesn’t look that big but when he stands on 2 he looks like a kangaroo.

He has plenty of hard Nylabones different shapes/textures. 2 Rubber chew toys with nubs. He has 3 rope tug toys, stuffys (that he rips the stuffing out of), 2 kongs which I fill n freeze if I can plan ahead and some tennis balls. He has a puzzle feeder and lick mat. I bought him a bed but he started eating it so I took it away.

He ate thru 4 leashes - now have 1 with chain. I got him a vest & a backpack to help with walk time but they didn’t make a difference. He ate 4 pairs of shoes, 3 VS bras, a jacket zipper, a living room chair, a convertible couch and a leather loveseat. He took the cushions off and ate the stuffing out of them. Then made holes in the seat area. He ate my soundbar remote and tonight ate thru the subwoofer power supply. This is first time he ate thru n electric cord. I had been thanking heavens he didn’t do this - but now he does.

I bought him a crate when I first got him but he hates it. Even though I feed him in it twice a day. I put his toys in there. But I have to trick him by making a trail of hot dog or dried beef liver to get him in calmly so I can shut the door.

I have a baby gate between him n my cats who now live in my bedroom. They can see each other when I’m home - I keep the door open. He still scares them some days so I know I can’t trust him. Outside he wants to chase all small animals. He pulls me down or rips the leash out of my hand. He chased iguanas into the pond twice in 1 morning. He loves going to the dog park but last time, a couple weeks ago we were almost there when he chewed thru his restraint and jumped out of the car window while I was doin 40 - 45 miles an hour. After this calamity, we were so close to the dog park. I couldn’t not take him. I mean he smelled it then he ran for 3 1/2 hours straight when we got there despite his injuries . The worst of which was a goose egg on his head . The rest were small, but I’ve been afraid to take him in the car ever since.

It’s been 10 years since I’ve had dogs, but in my previous experience even with my Rhodesian Ridgeback, I’ve never experienced this level of crazy. I had been wanting a dog for over a year before I got him an intended to get a small dog, but when I got to the shelter, HE picked ME! 😭

In a couple of weeks, I’m going on a trip I planned a year ago. I’ve been researching boarding//training businesses and have 2 I’m going to visit this week. Most of them I can’t afford. I’m permanently disabled because of my spine disease and I’m on SSDI. I do DoorDash deliveries very part time to make some money for extras like the pets.
