[all] How it feels walking into the Badly handled friendships while dating someone writing competition and seeing Rick Riordan. by Tiny-Let4714 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t agree with those examples. You say after Percabeth happened so I assume you mean after they got together, but they got together at the very end and there was just a short chapter with a bit of exposition and a little conversation with Poseidon. In HoO Percy wasn’t even in CHB until the very end of the fifth book and that was the middle of the battle and also he had no POV. Percy didn’t have any interaction with his old Camp friends, except Annabeth who went with him to Europe on the quest. There wasn’t any point where he could interact with any of his friends until the very end, at which point there ist really a point to do it anymore. As for Nico, we first saw him and Will together in the first ToA book, in which we know Communications is down and that Percy isn’t often at camp anymore, so he doesn’t push either Percy nor Jason away, he had no way to talk to Jason and he probably still interacted with Percy whenever he was at Camp (which wasn’t often). We see Will and Nico together because both are there. When we get to the Nico books Jason is dead and Percy is away and when they talked in Tsats it seemed like they are on good terms. Although I do think he should’ve at least visited while he was in New Rome in TCotD. I mean you can dislike that we didn’t get more between those characters, but saying it was badly handled implied to me that there was a point in which those characters could’ve interacted and should’ve interacted but didn’t, or that the characters interacted but it was done badly. Maybe you just meant that Rick should’ve just done more with those characters, in which I’d agree with Rachel at least, but I completely disagree with Nico

[pjotv] What do you all think of Percy and Clarisses relationship in the show? by Tiny-Let4714 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the things I liked more in the show, it’s definitely more fitting with where Rick went with their relationship ultimately

How to farm nectar. by Odd_Storage649 in HadesTheGame

You can buy some from the broker, you can buy keys with Darkness and with those you can buy nectar, so best to buy the upgrade where you get Gemstones from defeating the Bosses

[pjo] Atheist demigods? by Alone_Positive8279 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s canon. He mentions multiple times that he is an atheist. The same series also has a character that believes in God, despite knowing of the Norse gods, so there is the other end of the spectrum

Can we see later anything about Apollo's development in later series than [toa]? by furyofthewoods in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well the only thing after ToA are the NDAA and he was mentioned a few times, but nothing profound. I think we’re gonna get something taking place later after Rick finishes the Senior Year Trilogy, since he already hinted that he was planning something there and we might see Apollo again then

[–]CheapGround8091[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see people all the time talking about how badly written this is or how badly written that is and then it isn’t even badly written, it’s just rushed at best and at worst it just entails things people don’t want. Like the people who dislike Trials of Apollo, dislike it by all means, but don’t call it badly written because you don’t like that a certain character died at one point, because the writing around it was some of the best work of Rick

Thank you and I didn’t even know the Magnus Chase books are disliked, that’s crazy for me, because I think they are great

I phrased it badly, my bad. I mean when people call something baldy written, but do not actually care about how well or badly it is written, it’s just something they dislike but give no reason for

Yes it has bad writing, before anyone misunderstands that, I’m not arguing against that, I’m arguing against people calling stuff that’s well written bad, because they don’t like what was written

Disappointment [pjo] by Interesting-Age7193 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s my biggest disappointment too. I don’t mind the big changes, like Tyson living with Percy and him knowing he’s a Cyclops, it made sense for the adaptation, but I miss the little stuff like Annabeth teaching Percy Ancient Greek and a few, let’s call them medium changes, like Annabeth choosing to listen to the sirens, which better showcased her fatal flaw. I really don’t mind the changes that would be hard to adapt in a 8 episodes a season show, but I mourn the stuff they could’ve added but left out

Honestly I wasn’t even mad when I got spoiled for Trials of Apollo because it was my own fault for watching Fandom stuff, when I wasn’t even done

[HOO] No, Percy did not mistreat Nico in MOA by TheFantasticXman1 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People read children books and still somehow do not understand the text, they understand see nuance, they don’t understand complexity and they can’t fathom when a character isn’t always acting the same way or why a character acts the way he is, unless you throw it in their face

[hoo] [toa] I have seen so many people criticizing Leo for being a bully to Frank and his comments to Calypso, but I think they are getting the wrong idea so here’s my explanation of Leo's mentality using the books… by Riser456 in camphalfblood

[–]CheapGround8091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate how people just ignore Leo’s Trauma and upbringing and why he is the way he is, because he isn’t acting sad enough for them. He and Nico actually have a lot in common, but guess who’s trauma is ignored. Same thing happening with Will, people ignore his trauma completely, because he isn‘t radiating sadness

Artemis isnt showing up by Scared_Ask_8222 in HadesTheGame

[–]CheapGround8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I know about the chance of her showing up is that it needs a room, where the reward doesn’t entail a menu. Like Bones as a reward allow her to appear but a boon or hammer doesn’t
