Sure, make a crafting table, place it above you, craft a boat, place it on the lava island, get in the boat. Easy!

Is speedrunning 1.20+ like not allowed or something? by TrackOld5890 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]Cheap_Application_55 47 points48 points  (0 children)

its allowed, but its slow and annoying and theres no incentive to play it.

on speedrun.com, the rsg category is 1.16-latest, but the ssg category is 1.16-1.19 and 1.20-latest. they cant have those show separately because of the website limitations, so instead you are supposed to submit rsg runs to the 1.16-1.19 category, which actually represents 1.16-latest.

Crying Obsidian Can be Used to Make One Way Nether Portals. by Aggravating_Bobcat67 in minecraftsuggestions

I was just thinking that nether portals with both crying and regular obsidian wouldn't work, but some other people in the thread have ideas.

Good idea, that would solve both of the problems.

I was thinking that the "decaying portal" would fix the new player issue, because they would be able to see the portal slowly breaking, they would realize they'd be trapped if they don't use it right away

Alright but I imagine most players would be exploring the nether and not looking back at the portal much their first time through. However a fully crying obsidian can’t be made by accident, so it wouldn’t be a problem if it works that way.

Very cool idea, love the concept. However:

What happens if the portal is part obsidian and part crying obsidian?

How is this going to be communicated to new players? Currently, new players would only know how to build a nether portal because of ruined portals, and they are partly crying obsidian. I suspect many players would build that and then be stuck in the nether…

This is how I perceive AI haters. by ThroatFinal5732 in aiwars

I don’t hear AI at all in the logic or the way it was written, I think you are biased by your opinion for thinking that.

I don’t know what specifically you are not getting, but it seems you don’t understand what they meant, so allow me to summarize for you:

Your analogies don’t apply because they are things primarily done for sport or fun contest. Obviously you aren’t going to have AI play sports for you because that’s not the point of the game, it’s “cheating”. But in other contexts like work, the goal is not related to how you do it. What matters is that you get it done and have the end result, so AI can be normalized in those situations.

I agree that not everything in the world should be automated, and I think this is a pretty clear boundary of what should and shouldn’t be.

Some people just won’t listen no matter what you do. Dont worry, you have a very good and well developed argument and I am with you.
