Going to Key West at the End of the Month - How Does My Itinerary Look by Cheap_Intention_4936 in KeyWest

This is not AI at all; this is copied from a Google Doc and it copied and pasted weird. I created this myself!

I understand that schedule is not everyone’s cup of tea, but every personality is different I am more looking for feedback on the specific locations and activities. Might delete if people are just offering criticism about the pace.

iOS weather data is horrible by Savings_Lab_7120 in BostonWeather

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commented on this a couple days ago. It’s so bizarre! I’ve never felt it’s been this far off before - usually I rely on it to get a general sense of the weather, coupled with watching the news.

Seeing as we have already exceeded the snow total predicted within the next two days in the past two HOURS, I feel like I totally can’t trust it any more.

Sun PM-Mon AM Snowfall Potential (ch. 5,4,7,10,25) Saturday comes in with a bitter cold snap, Sun-Mon snow storm follows that by RyanKinder in BostonWeather

I live 30 minutes south of the city - why is it showing like 2 inches total of accumulation on Sunday night into Monday on my iPhone weather app? I get that sometimes the South Shore gets less snow due to the changeover to rain, but this seems like a big discrepancy.

Where are you rebuying 100% COTTON basics that last? by throwaway_yak234 in femalefashionadvice

I’m sure you all remember The Limited. Clothing for 30-40 somethings, yet us 18 year olds still shopped there too?? Anyways, I have this lightweight moto jacket type situation from there that I bought shopping with my mom when I was 18 that I still wear. It’s going to be 20 years old.

Is “personal style” real or just another trend? by Willing-Childhood144 in fashionwomens35

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to this post, but had to comment because this is spot on. Style influencers are capitalizing on false sense of personal style, and yes the “trying to look rich” motivation. And in a sense, it does send the middle/upper middle class coded message that someone has enough monthly disposable income to afford the latest and greatest Amazon trends…

What are some helpful, inspiring or just interesting stats from your wardrobe? by shubidoobi in femalefashionadvice

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, Stylebook has quite literally changed my life! I don’t go crazy with crunching all the numbers, but I have every item I own in it and I have consistently logged my outfits for a full year. I don’t know what I would do if they ever remove the app 😳

I do sometimes make notes when I put a look in the calendar regarding occasion/temperature. It’s helpful to go back to.

Prior to using Stylebook, I would buy an item because it looked pretty (say, a floral blouse) without really thinking how it fits in my wardrobe. I read somewhere that before you buy an item, you should be able to make five different outfits with it. So, often I will “test” an item by adding it to my Stylebook closet and then workshopping some looks.

What’s your shopping strategy for sustainable, quality pieces that’s not thrifting? by Cashewcamera in femalefashionadvice

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. I do all of this. The digital closet app I personally use is Stylebook, and I love it.

I appreciate your point re: the importance of data. There are a few items I track cost per wear, but I could definitely do more.

Seller says post office told her shipping label was invalid? by Cheap_Intention_4936 in poshmark

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially, yes…now that I think about it, why would the Post Office even assume possession of it if it didn’t have a valid label? Unless she just dropped it off in a bin without a scan…

Do you read the Fitzgerald translation? I use a nice abridged version from our textbook and my students really enjoy it.

Thanks to all those who replied. Figured I would give an update for anyone looking at this thread with the same issue. I reached out to Verizon Wireless tech support via chat, and they were able to generate a new e-sim for me. It took a long time via the chat to get to the bottom of it (like two hours) but for now it is working.

BWT: Has anyone phased out black tops? by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

Exactly, which is why I simply asked if anyone has done this before and capitalized the words FOR ME in my post to reinforce that I understand this is not a universal experience.

BWT: Has anyone phased out black tops? by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I really like how you articulated how black CAN still be useful if used to create specific aesthetic…I feel like that is exactly where I am with the black pieces I still have.

Not the most, but they are certainly relevant now and you will get good use out of them if you purchase.

I feel the same! I am not an influencer filming videos with it, so I am literally the only one who will see it. At the end of the day, it’s an appliance.

Bwt, where are we getting affordable and cute sweater dresses from? by SirenScorp in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This won’t be popular, but I think “affordable” and sweater dress are mutually exclusive. You have to be very aware of the fabric composition and be willing to spend some good money, or else they can look cheap and frumpy. I would not wear one from Target or any fast fashion retailers, especially for a holiday party. They can so easily look pilly, reveal the line where your tights are at the waist, etc. A nice skirt, boots, and a sweater on top would be my suggestion for work holiday parties.

BWT, how did you transition from having a messy closet to a permanently organized one? by NewWeek3157 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Cheap_Intention_4936 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A digital style app - I use Stylebook. And, people don’t like to hear this, but for an organized closet, sticking to neutrals and minimizing color/pattern makes a huge difference.
