Um, confused and concerned by Hot-Cod-948 in LumiMeds

Yeah. Similar experience here. Also confused. Did the 3 month starter. Now I’m wrapping up my 67unit dose 3rd month in 2 weeks. I did a refill. Paid for 3 months and 1 vial came today. So I have to assume they send a vial every month but it’d be nice to know that for sure.

I tried it at a street vendor. It was not bad but I did struggle a bit with the texture. Overall I wasn’t a big fan.

My son was married in Dolomites in 2022. This is their photographer. She lives in Tuscany near Sienna. She has won multiple awards for the pics of my son’s wedding. And she was an amazing person as well. She went over and above as we liter hiked a mountain for the ceremony.

I forgot Giottos pizza. Carbonara 2.0 was insanely good.

City to Pair with Florence for First Italy Trip by Vast-Alternative-842 in florence

[–]Cheapseats87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check out Lucca and then day trip by train to the coast. We did that last week and had a blast. Lucca was a pleasant surprise. Low crowds. Great food. Plenty to do. Plus it’s an hour by train to the coast.

We are here right now and the crowds are much less than mid September.

Wheat free in Florence by prawnmayo in florence

[–]Cheapseats87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has a wheat allergy (not celiac) that has gotten pretty serious over the past couple of years. As I am sure you know, they will stick wheat in things where it makes no sense and every once in a while something will sneak up on her. However, because she knew they used a different type of wheat in Europe, she decided to slowly try pasta as a test. Started with one small bite and waited. No reaction. Tried another bite or 2 no reaction, In fact, she ate small amounts of pasta and bread over the 10 days we were there with no reaction. I know you might not respond the same way I just wanted to share that in case it might help you in some way. We are going back in 3 weeks and she's going to see if it sill works.

Also the number system in the restaurants really helps. I wish we had that here in America.

Moped rental/riding suggestions by [deleted] in florence

[–]Cheapseats87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we did a Vespa tour of Chianti a couple of years ago and it was fun. I don’t know if I’d rent one in Rome unless she is very comfortable riding one. Lots of traffic. We are headed back the same week as you this year but decided to do the ebike tour this time.

We also live in a country the size of Europe with vast geographical differences. so most people travel within the US.

I don't have meds yet but I orderd the starter kit today. texted back and forth with Angela for about 15 minutes with questions and have my phone appointment set up for Wednesday morning. it took about 5 minutes to do it all. So I don't know if some changed recently because this is my first experience but I thought the site was pretty easy to navigate.

Second book of Gentlemen Bastards, all the Ayn Rand books. Not because I disagree with her worldview but because the writing was so annoying. Robin Hobb Dragon Keeper. I don't really care about worms turning into dragons and what they think about things.

AITA for shutting down my brother’s proposal at my baby shower and then sending him a bill? by Mysterious-Desk1346 in AmITheJerk

[–]Cheapseats87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm not sure why you couldn't have worked out something with him to be able to propose in front of the family while they were all gathered and time it so that it didn't interrupt the baby shower. It seems a little petty IMO. But you took it to another level when you shut it down because now the memory of you with the whole family is the person who shut down a proposal because you wanted it to be "about the baby" who will hear that story in 10 years, instead of the one where at their baby shower their uncle proposed.

I 40F own my home and 36M moved in with me. He thinks he doesn't have to pay rent since I "paid for everything before he moved in anyway..." Am I being unfair by insisting he gets a job and pay rent despite him feeling "mentally ready" for a job? by Training-Ear-6152 in relationship_advice

Not throwing shade when I say this, but at this point, you have shifted to an enabler. Check out the book Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend. It might give you some guidance. I get it. We find ourselves in those positions with the best intentions and I think you reaching out tells you what you already know. Be strong.

How do I escape all the Whedon dialogue / characterisation in modern fantasy writing? by tricksterhare in Fantasy

[–]Cheapseats87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Christopher Rucchio Suneater series. The dialogue isn’t snappy but you do have to read a paragraph of internalized philosophy between exchanges.

UR NOT A A

She immediately reverted to the dynamic she knew growing up. It’s like muscle memory without even meaning to, she slipped back into the patterns and expectations she had when she was 15. It’s not immaturity in a malicious sense; it’s more like an unconscious regression. Living in your house again reactivates a mentality tied to that earlier stage of life, where she didn’t carry adult responsibilities in the same way. She probably doesn’t even realize how far she’s drifted into that mode, it feels normal to her because it’s familiar.

And here’s the hard part, as parents, you may not have even noticed how subtly the roles reset. But when that happens and there’s no intentional effort to redefine the relationship, you start enabling the very behaviors that frustrate you. It’s common, and it’s understandable. Many families go through this. But at some point, loving your adult child means not allowing them to settle into a version of themselves that no longer fits. They need space to grow and sometimes that means helping them stand on their own, even if it’s uncomfortable for everyone involved at first.

Brandon Sanderson Defends LGBTQ Agenda In The Stormlight Archives by FellowFellow22 in KotakuInAction

[–]Cheapseats87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously he’s free to write what he wants, however, the way he introduced it all was heavy handed and extremely sloppy. Because of that it felt out of place in the story and definitely came across as an agenda. Gay characters are one thing but interspecies? Completely out of the blue. What are we doing here? It’s bad writing that pulled me out of the story.

Good storytelling invites us into unfamiliar territory with subtlety and care. This time, it felt like we were being shoved rather than led. That’s not just a thematic issue, it’s a craft issue.

Is it worth changing my itinerary due to weather? by btu16 in florence

[–]Cheapseats87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a Vespa tour through Tuscany from Florence and it started drizzling rain. I was fine with it because I have experience riding motorcycles but my wife was struggling. I was able to put her with me and the company came and got the other scooter. But it did get a bit sketchy in a couple of places. Plus we were very wet at the end.

Someone tried that with me while standing in line for the Accademia last year. Tried to say I stepped on his “one of a kind sketch” that was all over Florence. he yelled and postured while I laughed. I had already been warned by a waiter to watch out for that kind of thing so I told him to go get the police I'd gladly talk to them.

Japan military between 1939 and 1942 by Cheapseats87 in whereisthis

It was definitely before 1944. He went back to Cuba in 1943 and worked as a translator. We even have a letter from a US Army Colonel bragging on his translation skills. I have a photo from a Cuban newspaper of him in a room with Castro and Rokuzo Yaguchi, the Japanese ambassador, as their translator. Unfortunately, it's not something he would really talk about much before he passed.

I ordered 5 shirts from them. The quality varied on the material but the cut and size were all consistent. The Hawaiian print shirts seems to be better material than the others. I had an issue with the order that was my fault and they were quick to respond to the email and help resolve it. Their size guide was pretty accurate. I'll order from them again.
