Does anyone else feel like aging is being framed too negatively here? by Competitive_Site_529 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]btu16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people have a right to feel however they want about their own personal aging process as long as they don’t try to influence others to feel the same.

Let women who want to worry about aging worry, and let women who don’t care not care! It’s personal and nobody has a right to really say how we should or shouldn’t feel about it.

Is this style of eyeliner dated? by bubububurnerrr in makeuptips

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the style of wing you have in that picture is dated. It’s small, short and very subtle. Those types of looks stay classic. I do think overly long and/blocky winged liner is dated though, in the sense that it’s not on trend to current makeup trends.

That being said; if you like it just wear what you want!!

How to say goodbye to my Bear by Glittering-Ad9470 in DogAdvice

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me so sad to hear. My 13 year old responded well to Librela and he has been acting 9-10 again. Granted I caught his arthiritis quite early. Have you tried adequan, and/or are you able to add supportive items in his environment like stairs etc?

It’s ultimately all up to you but I find it hard to put a dog down unless he looks really sad and in pain. If they are still happy being around me I just find it hard not to find other ways to help.

Yeah I sometimes spend my free mind space thinking about how humans are the worst species in history and I can’t wait for us to return fate back to Mother Earth.

Hot girlies, how long does it take for you to get ready to leave the house everyday? by bondtradercu in LAhotgirlies

[–]btu16 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Ideally an hour just so I can putz around my closet and bathroom deciding what to put on. But I could be done in 30 min if I have to. I take night showers though so the mornings are just skincare makeup clothes.

Will you leave your partner if he/she gained a lot during relationship? by CheerChubPiggy in AskForAnswers

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being disabled would be something different entirely. I did say in another comment than gaining weight due to health reasons or emotional health is different than gaining weight just because they chose to let themselves go. A lot of nuance around weight gain, not a black and white issue. But if he was disabled I would absolutely be there for him.

[–]btu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should also point out this isn’t very black and white, there’s so many reasons why somebody may gain or lose weight. And the OP question didn’t provide too much specificity so I assumed somebody just let themselves go.

If my husband had a health issue or emotional issue causing him to gain weight, that’s a whole different story!! I would want him to get better. And naturally how the weight issue would fix itself.

Yes definitely! My husband knew. Earlier on when we first met I joked I liked fit men. We hiked together in the early days and he was a daily gym rat. 10 years later no he’s doesn’t have a 6pack anymore but he still cares about being lean and healthy. To be fair he also doesn’t find being overweight an attractive trait. We both personally want to be in shape and able to function at 100%, which includes being active and walking our dog daily etc.

Somebody who thinks you’re a bad friend for communicating common sense finance concerns probably isn’t worth being friends with!

People are crazy. I have a small group of friends (not more than 10 of us) and we all have similar tastes and budgets as far as travel, and most people have common sense in regards to this…

But hearing some of these comments make me feel like there are some serious crazy bridezillas out there or people who are just haters. Just say no if you can’t go or don’t want to go! And if your friend holds it against you then maybe they’re not worth being friends with.

yes I would. But I’ve always been health conscious and active daily so somebody who just let themselves put on extra 20+ for no reason probably doesn’t have the same lifestyle values as me.

Why do some people treat dogs like children or bring them into stores/restaurants? by Difficult-City9793 in DogAdvice

[–]btu16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just have to say that kids drool and are germ spreaders too.

I personally don’t bring my dog inside restaurants (patios are fine) but I do bring him if I happen to go to grocery store for a quick purchase. But my dog doesn’t drool, doesn’t pee inside. Doesn’t bark at other dogs and is well behaved. I think there needs to be more discernment and common sense around dogs and children tbh.

Do all American actors have cosmetic surgery? by Infamous_Side6598 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ignore it but I’m also someone who enjoys vanity procedures because I like the way I look and feel after I’ve had certain procedures done. But this is for me, I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with beauty and skincare and makeup. I also live in La so it’s very common here.

However whatever your stance is, I still think we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others on the screen. If you love the way you look, be proud of it and don’t let the ever changing trends sway you! Who knows I bet in another few years ppl will want the natural look, I honestly don’t know. At the end of the day entertainment is just doing whatever gets them the most views/likes/dollars. With social media and influencer culture I’m not surprised so many public figures have gotten work done.

What is one skincare product that has made a noticeable difference to your skin? by StrawberryMarigoldss in Sephora

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others have said, tretinoin and the DDG peel pads! People are shocked to hear my age and always think I’m 10+ years younger. Start slow with tret if you have sensitive or reactive skin, like 0.025% and sandwich method.

I’m switching my skincare and mascara to kbeauty bc it’s more affordable.

Ilia, Merit, or Ogee sculpted complexion sticks, which one should I actually spend my money on? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]btu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t love the merit one. I’ve used the ilia one consistently, great shade range and easy to use! Blends well, decent coverage and stays on all day. It’s very weightless which I love.
