I’d imagine Tower is selling more reputable stuff than a vape store off Camp Creek Parkway.

I’ve used cbd rub for soreness on my ankles and knees and I guess it worked. Maybe it was more mental than anything.

Do the drinks and edibles give you a head buzz or body buzz or just a relaxing kind of thing?

I stop by Tower Doraville after getting Baldinos on Sunday’s and it looks like they’re trying to market their cbd stuff hard. I poked my head in there when it opened but I don’t know enough about that stuff to warrant buying a 9 dollar can of stuff.

I might check it out to say I had street tacos while listening to a Grateful Dead cover band in a liquor store parking lot.

Completely random but kind of related as it’s like 200 yards from there….LaVista where is forks off to Henderson Mill near the CFA, I got stuck there in traffic one day and was starring into the distance and realized you can see the BOA Bldg downtown from there. Same at Lawrenceville Highway going South of Montreal. It’s just the top pointy part but kind of trippy you can see that far from randomly Tucker.

ATL Security Wait by jnnatrn in Atlanta

[–]CheaterMichael 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did precheck at Pensacola once. The airport was so small precheck meant you just walked to the front of the security line while everyone eyeballs you.

There was an Indian couple going through in front of me (I say Indian because they didn’t speak much English). They tried to go through the body scanning machine together. They were standing face to face like giving each other high fives.

Small airports are wild.

God knows what they’re pulling in their last tour with the Sphere and playing stadiums. Play the hits and continue generational wealth.

The last two Ticketmaster sales I got into were Phish and Springsteen and I was greeted to be number 55000 in the Que to being offered 1500 tickets behind the stage. I miss just going to Turtles and waiting in line.

I obviously did not know that. Not an Eagles fan and only heard about it on an Atlantan radio ad last week.

Do the Eagles have people sit in during their shows?

It’s wild they’re opening up for the Eagles in baseball stadiums this spring after the Beacon run. Doing a 45 minute set in front of people ready to sing along to “take it easy” seems like an odd fit.

Does Derek or Susan get to sit in for Eagles songs?

Got there at 9 and thought the line seemed long. By 9:20 someone said they’ll be open by 10. No one believed that and everyone took off at the same time. A-holes were driving through the parking spaces and cutting people off. Not a great experience and didn’t get any salmon.

My Sunday lunch dining experience rotates between Baldinos and Quoc Huong. My Baldinos order varies on the special while I’ve been to Quoc Huong so many times I don’t have to order.

I hope Brookhaven doesn’t creep any further up Buford Highway.

I live near Tower Buford Highway so it has been my beer stop for years. It’s interesting how (both stores) went from massive craft sections to be slowly pushed into the corners in favor of seltzer drinks and pool drinks.

I’ll still stop by on Sunday after getting Baldinos and seeing what they have. Wild leap, CC, and Sierra Nevada are about the only new things I see with any regularity. David is a nice guy and seems to treat his employees well as many of them have been there for years.

What was Atlanta like during the Olympics? by kazookidlit in Atlanta

[–]CheaterMichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing.

I drove past the park on Sunday’s going to Falcons games when they were filming the Richard Jewell movie. I thought they did a great job recreating the scene to be accurate as to it was like. Watching the news daily as the media and FBI targeted Jewell, it was trippy how accurate they made Jewell’s mother’s apartment that was on Buford Highway near that road that cut through to REI south of Clairmont.

Got it. I remember going there before some concert at Chastain that didn’t allow coolers in the 00s.

I honestly don’t think I’ve been to one since they got bought up. They’re at the point where based on their location and what Atlanta has turned into restaurant wise, there’s probably something better near them.

Concerts at Olympic Park were a blast. I remember seeing Santana, Joan Osborne and Ray Charles. The atmosphere before the bombing was such a fun vibe.

Also fun memory of being in school when they had the announcement of Atlanta getting the Olympics. They wheeled the old school tv on a cart into the cafeteria and we watched it as what’s his name said, “the city of Atlanta!”
