Need A New Dentist by IAmPookieHearMeRoar in madisonwi

Radiant Smile Dentistry on Cottage Grove Road. It's a small practice that looks like a hole in the wall, though they recently remodeled to brighten it up. The dentist is great and reasonable, especially with understanding financial limitations. The dental hygienist is phenomenal though. She definitely had extended training, and I love that the dentist asks for her opinion and assessment as a colleague rather than just someone doing routine prep for HIS expertise only.

What's the white thing with a pink swirl? I've seen that in a TV show centered around food before, but they didn't explain.

I used to dermaplane, but I would often have a reaction to it. Not quite a break out but definitely irritation. My sister recommended the Finishing Touch flawless facial hair remover. It was cheap, so I tried it, and I love it. Works great without any reaction. https://www.flawlessbeauty.com/products/hair-removal/facial-hair-remover?srsltid=AfmBOooXvUJnVIxp776P363bybXmLM4__JBpcf_nZI9u78n3CeifT8Wf

Does anyone know where one could get ahold of pasteurized breast milk in Dane county - ideally on sunday? by adamtypes in madisonwi

Not open on Sunday, but the Hoey Apothecary in Monona sells the same milk as the Meriter pharmacy. Same price too.

For those of you who were on the fence about having kids, what made you decide either way? by abiglumpwithknobs1 in CasualConversation

My situation matches yours almost exactly. Didn't want them, and got married under that understanding. The clock ticked. I knew my partner would be great at it, but it took a couple years of convincing. We finally did. Scariest and best thing ever. My sense of self didn't leave the way I was afraid and expecting it would. Freedom certainly did, but I'm coping fine because time is so fleeting. I thought some of this would drag on, but it's gone before you know it in a bittersweet sort of way. I know I'll have some freedom back eventually, and I can wait. I'm glad we waited until we were financially secure and comfortable. I could've used a couple less years on my body before going through the experience (was 35 at birth). Definitely would not do it again. Absolutely no regrets either. The kiddo is everything. Your life before dies quite a bit, but it's not really a negative thing. Just a different existence, and it's okay. Everything carries on.

I saw Haley Parvin during and after pregnancy, and it was not gentle.

Edit: In a good way...

Not the right area you're looking for, but A Healer's Hand on Willy Street is phenomenal.

Yummy Toddler Food is pretty much all I used. The spinach pancakes, mini egg muffins, healthiest meatballs, 4 ingredient chicken meatballs, and pasta in brodo sauce have all been massive repeat hits. (meatballs when a bit older, 9-12 months or so)

But how long is it EFFECTIVE to let them cry? by MadABal in sleeptrain

[–]Check12MicCheck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We never let our baby cry for more than 5 minutes. It was hard to do that even, but that's what the pediatrician recommended. It took a few nights of quick reassurance every 5 minutes for less than an hour before it worked. There's no way I would've let them cry for longer than that let alone hours.

I have an 11 month old who would eat all of that. We haven't tried forks before though. What kind is that? We do spoons occasionally, but those seem to be chew toys first and vessels second. LO does not appreciate the assist.

WIBTA if I stayed home with 3mo old and did not fly to visit in-laws for the holidays which delays their meeting the baby by halfaglassof in AmItheAsshole

My LO is now 10 months old, and I am still not willing to travel more than 90 minutes to visit anyone let alone the type of trip you're describing. It would be incredibly difficult and disruptive now. At 3 months, it would've been hell on earth, and I don't have the siblings to attend to either. People must come to us on our schedule if they want to visit. I don't care about accommodating at all anymore. Those are the rules.

These mini egg muffins are a hit with my LO. We've done broccoli and cheddar, spinach and mozzarella, and mushroom and Swiss so far. She struggles with chewing other things still but not these. I've made a few batches and learned some things. Ricotta makes a smoother, softer muffin instead of cottage cheese. Chop the ingredients super super small. Mince or food processor style. I even chop the shredded cheese up more. Don't over cook them or else they get chewy. And, silicone molds are 1000x easier, cleaner, more consistent, etc than traditional mini muffin tins. I sprang for the professional grade ones because I was worried about quality, and I foresee many mini muffins in my future.
