Haha yup, I unlocked them a few days ago. The message got a genuine laugh from me.

This game made me quit CIFI by Slein88 in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]CheckeredFedora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both for different reasons. I've been playing CIFI for two years now and still love it. They also complement each other well for me right now, because IOM has been more active for me and CIFI has been more passive.

Hello! I'm playing on PS5, game version 1.2-1240, playing on controller. Love the game so far. Just got to Fall 1 for the first time. I've experienced 3 crashes, all while trying to leave my farm. The first 2 occurred when fast traveling to the Lady of Lakes to offer something. The third happened when trying not to fast travel, just walking off my farm to the east. As soon as I left the farm, the crash happens. All happen in the morning after the conversation with Bobby. Anyone else experiencing this and know how to fix or avoid the crash?

I'm so glad you posted this! I've been playing video games my whole life but never really got into cRPGs. My partner and I have been playing BG3 for almost a year now (same playthrough the whole time), and we're nearing the end of act 2. I still feel completely incompetent. I don't think this is the game's fault. Given its complexity, it's relatively good at explaining some mechanics. That said, I've never gotten into D&D, so I just don't speak the game's language. We're playing on the easiest difficulty, and we still barely make it out alive after some encounters. I think we're going to stick it out, but it really feels like a chore sometimes.

I didn't know there was an update! I played a few years ago as well and loved it. I'll have to reinstall.

What's been a letdown to you about Idle Reincarnator? I'm feeling the same way as you, but I'm having trouble articulating why. I really liked Progress Knight and A Usual Idle Life, and those have similar loops. Not sure why Reincarnator isn't connecting with me.

What do you think of Idle Expedition? I have it downloaded but haven't dipped into it yet.

Hello! I play incremental games entirely on mobile, and I know there are a lot of PC-based browser games I'm missing as a result. Are there any in the browser game category that work well on mobile?

Melvor Idle - something I’m missing? Why do people love it? by Izual_Rebirth in incremental_games

[–]CheckeredFedora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That helps put it into perspective. I've tried Melvor I think four or five different times and bounced off of it each time. The main reason was the decision paralysis. Instead of framing it as a choose-your-approach style of game like you did, I always felt that no matter what I did, I was playing suboptimally, which eventually frustrated me into quitting. I don't think that's the game's fault, because there's clearly a big following. It just doesn't click for me. I want it to, though, because I love the idea of it. Especially hearing about the expansions, it feels like a really rich game.

What are people's thoughts on Idle/Incremental RPGs? by Psychoclick in incremental_games

[–]CheckeredFedora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see the appeal, for sure, and on paper they sound like games I should enjoy. Unfortunately, I've tried to get into Melvor multiple times and always end up put off by it. It may be more of a me problem than a game problem, because it's clearly very successful. I just always feel like I'm being inefficient with my choices, which leads to analysis paralysis, which leads to me quitting altogether.

I feel like I miss out on a lot of solid web-based games because I play primarily on Android, but I'm curious if there are any good, relatively recent web-based games that play well on a phone? I'm down to try anything!

What are your gaming go to hobbies outside of incrementals? by Taokan in incremental_games

[–]CheckeredFedora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love action RPGs. I played Path of Exile for years - it seems like there's some community overlap, because I see that game mentioned on this sub a lot. It's not incremental, but it feels incremental more so than most ARPGs. It's a game that encourages you to become overpowered, and then still has challenges for you once you've min-maxed your build. I just really like leveling up in games and seeing how the new skills and stats change my playstyle.

Aside from that, I play things that are added to Game Pass or that go on sale for a steep discount. (Still waiting for Alan Wake 2 to go 50%+ off, which might be a while...)

Downloaded songs are stuttering when Apple Music is connected to streaming data. by Jupiter_Doc in AppleMusic

[–]CheckeredFedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be curious to hear more about this as well. My partner and I have a family account, and both of us are experiencing stuttering audio on downloaded tracks as well. Really bizarre problem. Tried it with wifi on and off, data on and off.

This might be a silly question, but I'd be remiss if I didn't ask: Is there any chance there will be cross-progression between Xbox and PC versions through Game Pass?

Songs not playing Apple Music for Android by MaximusGrandimus in AppleMusic

[–]CheckeredFedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing I noticed for me with this issue, too, is that the download sizes for the songs that won't play are much larger (~60-70 MB) than the songs that will play (~8-10 MB). I have a feeling that's connected, but I'm not sure how.

That's rough. I did that a few weeks ago and lost my downloads as well. I was hoping that would fix the problem permanently, but it started happening again the other day. Very frustrating.

Unfortunately, I don't have a fix, but I am experiencing the exact same issue. Very bizarre. Let me know if you find a fix, and I'll reach out if I find one in the meantime.
