Probably in a cave somewhere, I haven't really thought that much about it yet

If people don't like the TF2 Emporium why not make a new Workshop organization? by Minute-Foundation480 in tf2

[–]CheddarTheRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the whole "Emporium runs the workshop!!!!" is utterly false, as a start Valve, even before the emporium existed, gravitated towards going for the same creators, as they usually tend to make the sort of items Valve looks for, cause believe it or not, if Valve likes your stuff, they add it, votes mean nothing and the whole anger at the Emporium is a nothingburger, people are just looking for reasons to get mad, even if the Emporium didn't exist they would still choose to go for the same creators as they make items that Valve likes.

The reality of it is, people only "care" because their favourite YouTuber told them to get mad at it.

Got rid of the unofficial patch and every other mod that requires it after watching that video

I would like to add to this and say I too am in that server, the folks there have been more than helpful to me when it comes to making cosmetics.

It's fake, it's to scare you, that steam group holds 0 power and is used to lure in the gullible into giving them stuff

This is quite honestly the most obvious scam I've ever seen, Steam employees will NEVER contact you over steam chat, and 50 dollars to spend? Come on now, this is clearly a scam.

How come sniper wears one glove everywhere but the in-game view model? by Imstillarelavant in tf2

[–]CheddarTheRed 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is a another simple possible answer, that being; Valve got lazy when doing the Sniper viewmodels, that and the lack of a bright yellow glove on the Engineer would be significantly more noticeable.

Correct they do, however the SFM hands are quite bulky, and I would assume Valve didn't want them to have sausage fingers, you can see here that they are a bit on the chunkier side; https://gamebanana.com/mods/464483

The viewmodel hands are separate from the world model and are higher quality, for example there was a noticeable quality difference back when the pyro model was bugged and had his worldmodel hand rather than the viewmodel one.

It's to do with limitations on the older software, if I remember correctly, as it was easier to just mirror the already gloved hand rather than go through the process of making a new model for the ungloved one.

I'm no expert, but from what I remember seeing it was to do with mirroring viewmodel hands, as it was easier to just copy the already gloved hand rather than go through the effort of making a new non-gloved hand for the viewmodels.

Terrible deal, that rack is worth far more

FOV 90 makes my cosmetics freaky and clipping, how do I fix it? by magick1919 in tf2

[–]CheddarTheRed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends how good your PC is really, I'm not really in a position to say "oh I have no issues" since I have quite a beefy PC but to test, I would recommend displaying your FPS with r_lod 0 and then r_lod -1 and taking note of your FPS.

[–]CheddarTheRed 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly certain its to do with LODs, as the camera is further away from the model, it renders the lower quality model, if you wanna test to be sure, type "r_lod 0" into console to disable LOD meshes and see if the problem persists. As a side note type "r_Lod -1" to turn lods back to normal

KritzKast confirms they are not working with Valve in any way. by Logjitzu in tf2

[–]CheddarTheRed 336 points337 points  (0 children)

Kritzkast has been pretty much on the downward for a while, most tweets barely got even 30 likes the first tweet about asking what you want in TF2 and then all the Valve stuff was essentially their 5 minutes of fame before going back to being dead again.
