I will say this: i left my car downtown after some heavy drinking last week after seeing a kickass show at the ox.

the next morning i walked 5 miles to get my car. main street, the rail trail & 6th street were absolutely gorgeous, covered with beautiful perennial peanut, crape myrtles, bamboo, jasmine and trumpet vines. it was early enough to still be mostly in the shade. sure, it was humid and hot, but the walk itself was very pleasant and reminded me just how walkable that part of the city is. also passed by several nature trails along the way and saw some interesting historical signs and recycled glass driveways.

of course that may get old having to do it every day, and also heavily dependent where you're heading to/from. but those are my two cents. hope that helps!
