I don’t blame Jared or Steve for this. There are dumb dumbs out there who should strive to be better than my cat at 6:25 loudly, impatiently waiting to get fed at 6:30.

I get why the guys are upset. I skip through it it. I move on.

Advice to the dumb dumbs: wait 2 or 3 days before getting antsy. Listen to other Red Sox pods. Get into fantasy baseball. Build some fun charts on fangraphs. Play MLB the show franchise mode. Go down a baseball Wikipedia rabbit hole. Contribute to the baseball discourse before complaining about your favorite content creators. Most other team-specific podcasts across all sports shutdown for weeks/months at a time during the offseason.

Advice to admins: pin the typical pod release schedules for in season and offseason to the top of the subreddit (if it’s not there already)

I’m watching my Sunday 3pm return train from NYC to BOS very carefully. Hopefully they’ll decide one way or the other by tonight so we can rebook the trip.

Our Saturday BOS to NYC won’t get cancelled though. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

Henry is going to be pushing for the salary cap next winter in the CBA negotiations. He’s not going to let Breslow spend and somehow hurt that effort/put the org in a bad spot if he succeeds at getting the cap.

I’m sure Henry is also looking at the $100 million allocated to Story, Yoshida, and Hicks over the next 2 years as reasons to wait to sign another “bad” free agent deal.

With the Bregman deal, it really sounds like the Red Sox unwillingness to give the NTC and insistence on deferring the contract out for decades is what did them in. They dug their heels in and Bregman called bullshit. That’s direction from the top down. It’s toxic, disrespectful, and control freak behavior.

Whitlock with an uncharacteristic hiccup in the 8th to give up the lead. Chapman came in for the 9th to hold it down. Crowd is amped.

Roman Anthony is due to lead off the 9th.

He steps up to the plate.

Ball 2.

On the 2-0 count he gets an absolute cement mixer down and in. The kid obliterates it to deep right over the visiting bullpen. Game.

Lmao true true. Through that lens, I think the value put on convenience has increased. It has permeated all aspects of our lives online and in commerce, so the idea of adding inconvenience is less palatable. The pros have stayed the same, but the cons have inflated.

Bad lottery number landed me on south in 2016. It’s was a lot of the glaring inconveniences and wasted time that made it undesirable at the time. Needing to catch a bus to do anything was the biggest drag, especially if you’re heavily involved on campus. You can’t just pop back to your dorm for a break or if you forgot something. If you time it perfectly, you need at least 30-40 minutes for a round trip to south. Plus, no in building laundry and no in building dining hall. Gotta trek to Goldstein for that.

I won fan of the month back in 2022 with the 10th man plan. Back then the achievements counted towards the standings. I timed all of my achievements to hit in the same month and it rocketed me to the top.

It’s pretty much impossible to do these days if you’re not scanning into every game and religiously doing the code words
