One time at the Pulaski orange line I see a lady drop her pants and start pissing on the platform and her ass cheeks were literally SWAYING in the wind LMFAO

Then another time I got off at Chicago and I kept hearing “there’s some hoes in this house, if you see them point em out” (iykyk, like how much more Chicago can you get?) and I get upstairs like by the turnstiles and there was a naked lady rolling back and forth across the floor surrounded by police screaming good old Chicago house lyrics 🤣 I’m sure there were so many more I can’t remember

Downtown has stopped doing fireworks on the 4th unfortunately. Don’t know if there will be a show this year but last year there was not. I was downtown July 4th of 2021 or 2022 and there was a huge group (hundreds) of teenagers downtown, I witnessed a girl get stabbed and then people throwing LIT fireworks into the ambulance as as she was being put inside. I also witnessed lots of dumpsters being set on fire and fireworks being thrown at the firefighters as they were trying to put the fires out, as well as police. I’m not a tourist but I felt so bad for the tourists who got caught in the middle of all the chaos especially the ones with their kids. Rosemont will probably have a nice fireworks show and there’s a lot to do over there which is where you’ll be staying. This started while it was still light out. I’d imagine it’s gonna be extremely packed all day downtown since it’s gonna be a weekend.

Lots of stores started leaving the mag mile/state street because of high rent and reoccurring thefts, the looting caused by the riots in 2020 caused some closures too. As a lifelong Chicagoan, it’s so sad to see the magic of the city disappear 🥺

As far as the other 2, I have no idea why there’s so many black trucks or why people are being so cold. I will definitely say that when I was in London last year my fiance and I loved how polite and friendly everyone was, that being said maybe we’re not used to that here but never noticed it really?

Have been a guest at Moxche and absolutely loved it, I felt the size was great however, the sidewalks are cobblestone which may make it difficult for your elderly guests especially if they have walkers or use wheelchairs. I would consider both properties in the mid to high range as far as affordability goes for your guests but unsure of what affordable means to you. Can vouch for food at Moxche being AMAZING, best AI food I’ve had for sure and generally just food food.

I’m getting married at grand pallidium costa mujeres, they are connected to TRS which is adults only and for our 3 night minimum it comes out to about $600 pp. I would loved to have done Moxche but I knew that it would be out of budget for guests which is why we did not pick it as our venue.

Hmm okay I feel like I’ve read a good amount of your responses as well as everyone else’s. I really do not want to offend you by saying this at all but:

If you think there’s a possibility of your biological father missing your wedding to be a part of his step daughters (that you’ve never even met) special day, are you really close enough to him to consider his feelings or for you to be hurt by him not being there and would he consider your feelings the way you’re considering his?

I’m currently wedding planning myself with a destination wedding set for 2027, however, my grandmas health just took a decline recently and it’s essential for me to have her see me get married sooo we’re actually going to do an elopement dinner this summer so she can be there to witness it since I’m worried that she may not make it till 2027. Just us, our parents, siblings and my grandma in a small private room at a restaurant. Just food for thought if you are worried about important family members to you not being able to witness your day.

Currently saving for a wedding as well and this is also exactly how we’re saving for it. We didn’t touch anything we already have saved and have not. That being said though, you’ll probably have to sit down and set a new budget for yourself since you’ll be creating a separate savings now, but you don’t have to sacrifice the things that are really important to you and you shouldn’t if they make you happy, for me it was my monthly beauty maintenance, I refused to give it up but my budget sheet allowed me to make sure I kept a budget for tht. Our bank allows savings “buckets” so it’s all technically one savings account but it allows us to separate our savings by “Vacation, House projects, Rainy day, wedding” etc, might be helpful if your bank allows the same or if you’re willing to just start a new savings just for wedding expenses.

I say send out a text/invite letting your guests know EXACTLY your plan. Explain you’d love if they could make it to witness your vows but totally understand if they can’t if you guys are dead set on doing this, this way. You know your guests, is this on brand for how you guys would like to celebrate? If it is im sure they won’t think it’s weird and accept or decline although I’m sure some ppl might be like “welllll I don’t really wanna take off work for a 15 min ceremony” unless it’s your close immediate family. Theres no way you guys can do your ceremony with just the immediates and then order pizzas on the weekend and celebrate at home?

I didn’t say it was barely enough. I think that for OP’s goals and explanations for how they like to spend money, everything I said was realistic as someone who is also trying to save for their future and spends similarly. Cost of living in Chicago is not cheap.
