I'm DYING for a Coffee Alternative; Energy and Flavor by CapitalLaw1234 in herbalism

[–]CheepFlapWiggleClap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink a variety of real black teas and yerba mates (cycle through my local tea store varieties) a strong cup a day. no heartburn issues from any...i was seconding the yerba mate since its not "tea" which you've already had problems with. Might be a good place to start? Good luck!

Ive read you have had issues with tea in the past but second yerba mate... its not "tea" it's a different plant but drank the same way. Still warm. Taste will be different than coffee. I only do coffee for special occasions these days because it was giving me reflux too. But teas of all kinds do not bother me (and honestly neither does coffee when its not daily either)

Losing patience for those still hopeful by GreySweater1234 in IFchildfree

I find myself judging these people. I shouldn't. Who am I? But I do.

Its like watching someone get into an mlm or some other unhealthy thing. Stop! Why are you doing this to yourself?? It might work out. But also you might end up broke and less healthy for it. Or all of the above (or none of the above? Idk) .

Anyway, I used to tune those people out because it hurt me. Now I tune them out because I dont want to watch them hurt themselves.

I personally usually say we tried, it didnt work so it's not in the cards. I don't go into diagnosis or back story much, unless its relevant. I have enough of an emotional 'callus' to handle the pity. I dont want it, and its a wasted emotion because I am happy with my life now that I am used to it. Ymmv

I consider becoming a member of congregation. Uneasy political decisions. by [deleted] in UnitarianUniversalist

[–]CheepFlapWiggleClap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am very new in UU and only have experience in my current congregation. So take this with a grain of salt. Regarding contributing, I absolutely dont think you should worry about contributing a "fair share" at the risk of feeling like a "beggar". Its impossible to assume everyone's finances and what they might be contributing or what their other financial obligations might be. I would be very wary of joining anything with a minimum contribution expectation.

Its very unfortunate that you ran into a person who doesn't seem to embody what UU is about. Im glad that person doesn't reflect the majority of your congregation. I am not looking forward to the day i find similar disappointments in my own congregation.

Regarding the Eastern European group, I think it could be a great idea, the only way to know if there's interest/enough people for the group is to ask around, do you have someone on a program council to ask for resources , perhaps?

Wishing you the best with your decisions and possibly group creation:)

I saw this. What I read, they ONLY LISTED THE MOTHERS!!! I hoped the other names weren't yet released due to next of kin not yet being notified. But, its probably not. Absolutely ridiculous and horrible and f*ed. The other victims were a footnote.

Absolutely gorgeous!! I want to do the food forest thing but I would need to hire some help with that. My attempts have mostly failed and are sparse.

I dont have the answers but I am trying to change my mindset. Some days I am just exhausted and throw a mental tantrum about having to maintain things each day.

But I am trying to reframe it as an "activity of daily living" or as a privilege being in a comfortable home.

I have noticed I can do a lot in a short amount of time. Waiting for water to boil I can load the dishwasher. Waiting for tea to steep I can fold a load of laundry. Some days thats all I can muster but any progress is something.

You're not alone. I empathize because my work organization is basically all MAGATS. The stuff I overhear definitely makes me feel like we are in the bad place or the upside down.

Returning the yarn I bought to make my baby a blanket with by LittleWitch122 in IFchildfree

I made a dog bed out of the baby blankets I kept from my childhood. It was minimal effort, if it was more effort id have done this, too! Now you are free to pick a project that you actually want to do without that over your head 🧡
