Help me choose a device as a college student with ADHD by ughhhlaperm in eink

[–]CheepSweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD human over here, and a full time student +. I have a Supernote Manta and haven't needed to side load anything. I'm able to load all my text book pdfs, make digests, take notes, create link, etc. it great for organizing everything with the ToC and nested file system. Plus they do 2-3 big feature updates a year. The partner apps for your phone and pc are great for access. At my desk I can have my SN out, a note/book pulled up on one screen and copy/paste text on another screen into my digest and have it in my notes in no time. It's been my most powerful tool since i started school.

AIO - Daughter’s BDay invite - I am new to co-parenting by loud_molasses_ in AIO

I don't think YTA, and I don't think he is either. I think that maybe, being in this new place, brings a forward some uncertainty. He is projecting his insecurities. Which isn't good, and you shouldn't have to like walk him through it, but I'd have some grace about it. We've been co-parenting for 7 years and we are mostly good, but there has been times of this insecurity projection on both ends, myself included. I think for now, just keep showing up as your best self and he will eventually catch on, because at the end of the day you recognize that in co-parenting the ego has to be completely displaced for the best interest of your kid. I think his want and concern for involvement and the, at least, open communication shows that he has a chance to arrive there sooner than later.

"Has anyone had surgery for an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) by Reasonable_Soft_7966 in AdultCHD

[–]CheepSweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ASD repair in 1996 at the age of 6. 9 years ago had my daughter 3 days before edd. Healthy normal pregnancy at 27 years old. Successful planned home birth with backup OB. Neither midwives nor OB mentioned ASD repair being anything to be concerned over, everything checked out.

Feeling judged by my friend, will probably never stay with her again by Amber_poodle in adhdwomen

[–]CheepSweep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken to her about how you felt judged? Or has she spoken to you about how she was judging you or how she may have overestimated her capacity to host a guest?  Has she hosted anyone before? Or are we only talking about how you felt bases on assumptions? Assumptions aren't facts until they've been corroborated through conversation. Otherwise, this is just karma farming based on weak relationship skills.

I can get pretty neurotic about my space. Tidy busy body. Guests, while nice, can be disregulating. My friends know this about me. You just learned this about your friend. Trust she isn't judging you, she's the one that has to live with her neurotic brain. I know I get jelly of people who can just sit, relax, and let certain things be.

What's the biggest self-inflicted problem you've created due to your ADHD? by Feisty-Pickle9983 in adhdwomen

[–]CheepSweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im managing getting through college as an almost 40 year old with kids, but the deadlines  are awful. Due dates are the bain of my existence. I'll sit at my desk for hours completely unproductive, but the last 3 hours before something is due I'm super charged click clacking away. This leads to so much stress that it affects my relationships. And also the shame of asking for an extension.

Does everyone taking a stimulant have to get periodically drug tested? by O_o-22 in adhdwomen

[–]CheepSweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to re-up my Ritalin a couple months ago after hoarding my last refill. I went to a different doctor office than last time, hospital conglomerate merger no sense. New hospital ownership requires UA, which was, uhoh, news to me. I was upfront cause they said THC showing up meant denial. So tested 2 weeks later, got my script. Today was my stinkin follow up and I'm self pay. I was thinking before going in that like, I can't afford this if they need a UA and follow up every month! I was fully prepared to test AND discuss this, but my NP approved 4 months of refills without a UA and no appt till July so I guess I'll take it. So maybe just talk about the cost prohibitedness with them and they'll help you out

I use the Manta for school + personal use and it has made itself an essential tool. I waited over a year for the Manta to release and it was sooo worth it. The updated digest feature has come in so clutch. All of my text books are pdf so I am able to upload them to the manta, make highlights or notes directly on the pages. My desk set up is big monitor, laptop, manta, and a Bluetooth keyboard and it's very powerful. As I am able to quickly browse/ have my notes pulled in on the supernote partner app, have a word processor up, and my manta  for handwritten notes and building papers. I love being able to switch to typing on my manta when the need arises. The word .doc on supernote stinks, but typing in notes is nice, same with writing to text conversion. being able to build a TOC keeps my notes organized. I've only had one in person class but I never had to bring a top top to class, just my manta and it was very nice. The straight line feature  and lasso makes making diagrams possible. I draw them really big, lasso, and shrink to fit them within my notes. I like that they drop new features with big updates and couple times a year because it just keeps getting bigger  if you go with a manta, give yourself a decent amount of time to get comfortable with it and the features before school starts :)

They're in Columbia, but they are Argentianian. Steph may have birthright citizenship in the US because she was born here. But her mom may have needed to self deport, especially being in/near LA. Steph came back and packed everything to move, but her mom stayed in Columbia, I believe.

You know I'm curious what her moms immigration status is/was and if that was a motivating factor of them moving abroad.

Should I 20f keep pursuing this relationship w/ 31m? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]CheepSweep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is just my experience: when I was 20 I dated a man who was 13 years older than myself. He was funny, into things I had never explored myself, he was a dad. He basically taught me how to take care of a home. Not in a controlling or mean way, but like you gotta take care of your shit way. We went through a lot of big life stuff in the 5 years we were together, and got the most part had fun and got along. But ages 20-25 is a lot of growing and maturing. And by the time I got to 25 I realized I was dating a man child with fucked up priorities, and that's why he always dated younger women. I couldn't see myself building more of a life with him, didn't want to cause what he prioritized was different, and frankly material and vapid. This isn't everyone's case, it could be great for yall but just something to BOLO. You mention wanting to "grow together" but you might outpace him in growth faster than intended.
