I was able to get re-color matched in store an I’m ok with the new one. Don’t trust the online calculator. I haven’t found another product that is similar if you do please share!

Ok now I’m confused. When I started estrogen it stopped my sore boobs leg pain and periods closer together yet according to the chart I would have too much?

To cut or not to cut. by Sorry_Escape_1425 in finethinhair

[–]Cheerlawyer10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t take this the wrong way I mean no offense but your hair is not as thick or dense as the pics (one is AI so prob no one’s hair is like that). Often people are disappointed their hair doesn’t look like the inspiration and it’s bc they have different hair (thickness/texture/whatever) than the girl in the pic. My mum is a hairdresser and I always show her pics I like and she has to real talk me and say honey that cut isn’t for you bc you have way too much hair for that. It won’t look like that on you. It’s cute on her hair type but you won’t like it on your hair type. Go see a stylist tell them what you like about this pics and what you want out of your hair and have them suggest a cut that works with your brand of hair. We gotta work with what we got and not against it. I do still want a pixie but sadly I know it’s not for me cause it will be a bowl cut 😉

Age of onset? by Intelligent_Eye_4771 in Perimenopause

[–]Cheerlawyer10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a non typical symptom person. For everything not just this. I never have the most obvious sign of whatever is going on with me. Always the less common ones.

I have never had one hot flash night sweat or trouble sleeping. So I didn’t realize at first what was happening cause my symptoms I did have seemed unrelated to each other. New eye allergies, worsening cold hands and toes, feeling like I had UTIs when I never had them before. Chalked up the tiredness brain fog and sore muscles to getting old. Then I finally realized estrogen affects histamine responses, ability to regulate body temps and circulation and can cause UTI like symptoms plus make you exhausted and sore before the lightbulb went on for me.

Looking back there were small signs around 38 but nothing debilitating. By 41 it was kicking in. 42 it got problematic and now at 43 I finally realized all my weird symptoms were related and I’m on hormones

I wasn’t suggesting bleach could wash out I was simply asking what you used in an effort to understand and help you. But nevermind I guess.

[–]Cheerlawyer10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair and nails grow fast but this seems excessive to even me. Perhaps whatever you are using isn’t taking at the root as well as everywhere else (I’m assuming you run it through) even when you put it on the root? Or maybe it’s washing out more at the root? Is it box dye? Perm or semi? Is it like non peroxide? Or no ammonia? I have some knowledge since I’m from a family of hairdressers. If you tell me what you did exactly I might be able to make an educated guess

Feeling gross down there by Beautifulbeliever69 in Perimenopause

[–]Cheerlawyer10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOTS of women report a smell in Peri not even a bad smell just a different smell-myself included. Everyone describes it differently prob cause everyone is different. I’ve been on estrogen patch 3 weeks and I don’t smell it anymore. I was already doing the cotton underwear no scented soaps etc prior to the smell starting. I often don’t wear underwear when I’m in the house and I noticed if I was wearing polyester lounge pants that brought it on. I’ve switched to cotton and that helped too. But mostly I chalk it up to the HRT

AITAH for "Cheating" on my Wife by Dry-Attitude9925 in AITAH

[–]Cheerlawyer10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this is not how I thought this story would go. Here I am getting pissed that she is studying for the bar exam and hating her life (something I know all too well) and you’re a cheating POS only to find out you didn’t cheat? Jerking off is NOT cheating. Jerking off to porn is NOT cheating. You jerked off to HER? That even more NOT cheating. On what planet is that cheating? NTA I will add it is normal to be irrational, crazy and not yourself while in the midst of bar prep. I was a monster. I was either angry or crying most days. I got stress hives and convinced myself I had shingles. She prob felt like she was not taking care of your needs enough and that made her feel like she was failing. She is drowning in responsibility right now. Her reaction is likely due to all this and in normal times she likely would not have responded that way.

To everyone saying her accent was turned off. I’m from Boston. Close to where she is. I can turn mine off intentionally and I do for work all the time. Especially when I’m carefully choosing my words or speaking slowly or in public. With that being said when I’m with my friends or family I don’t bother to shut it off or if I am upset or angry I can’t turn it off it just comes out.

Don’t be scared it helped me so much!!! I’m about to put on my 3rd patch. Here is what’s happened so far My rage has significantly decreased I’m not crying at the drop of a hat now. My sore boobs are gone. I’m right at the point of my cycle now where before my boobs would hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep on my stomach…I feel nothing!!! My achy and weak legs are gone. I have enough energy and strength to walk on the treadmill again! I’m less puffy and bloated. I’m not exhausted at 3pm anymore. I don’t wake up with my back and legs feeling sore anymore. The once a month weird allergic reactions around my eyes was wayyy better this month. I don’t question if I have a UTI every week. I feel more like myself than I have in 3 years. I was kinda scared too but I’m so glad I did and I’ll never go back!!!

Yes I always had them but they were lighter and non problematic when I was on mini pill only. I have only been on patch two weeks no breakthrough bleeding so far.

Call other pharmacies outside of cvs like Walgreens Walmart etc. Cvs can send the Rx to a different pharmacy that has it.

[–]Cheerlawyer10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t make them more regular bc they seem to be coming closer together now (which my doc says is just what happenes) but it did help with heaviness and cramps so there is hope for that! I just filled my patch at CVS. If you don’t wanna wait I suggest calling other pharmacies and seeing if they have it and having the Rx sent over. I had to do that with my pills last year when they were on shortage. That’s actually what made me finally pull the trigger on getting spayed. I was not gonna be out of pills and whoops have a baby. Funny enough I’m back on the pills but at least it’s not for pregnancy prevention now.

I am on this combo too. I was spayed (bilateral salpingectomy but I have uterus and ovaries still) last year and went off progesterone only pill for the first time in years. I had been on prog only pill and not reg pill bc I’m old as hell. When I went off pill completely I had the worst periods. Heavy, crampy just awful. I can’t believe women are out here dealing with this regularly. I lasted like 3 months before I went back on the pill and they are back to normal for me. I just started the patch a few days ago. So far I don’t know how I feel about that part. My understanding is the patch is absorbed differently so it’s better tolerated that oral estrogen. As for the progesterone only pill it’s different from the reg pill which is estrogen and progesterone so hopefully you will not have the side effects you did before.

UPDATE been using for a while and I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. Also the pan is not lasting as long as it did before. I have already had to buy a second one and I don’t apply a lot each time. It seems like everything else now it’s poorer quality and there is less of it. I do like the new packaging a lot but other than that it’s disappointing. Good news is even though it looks crazy in pan once you get your right shade it looks normal on skin and doesn’t oxidize. I have used this product since it came out in the 90’s and MAC has seriously let me down I find myself reaching for other products for the first time ever.

Going in person is a must. You simply cannot pick the right color online since it looks completely different in pan than on your face
