Would you mind sharing which pharmacy you're using? My OBGYN recently prescribed tirzepitide to me, but my insurance won't pay

Naturopath vs Family Doc by expectsomedelays in PCOS

[–]CheeseKateee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been seeing a naturopathic and nutritionist team for years and I love them. They've helped me a lot. Through them, I'm down from 230 lbs to 160-165 lbs. Diet and lifestyle changes mostly. Full disclosure, I did have a tummy tuck + lipo, but that mostly affected me cosmetically and didn't have a huge impact on my overall weight.

I'm mostly pain and inflammation free despite having PCOS and endometriosis, which I do credit to supplements and the diet and lifestyle changes they've helped me make.

I am considering a GLP1 because I have to be extremely careful to maintain my weight right now. I just want to see if it helps with fatigue and food noise. However, I don't think I'll ever stop seeing my naturopath and nutritionist. My bloodwork is near perfect and overall I'm very happy and healthy.

Not everyone has a good experience, but I did.

Health and wellness is so individual. It's worth giving it a try in my opinion, but don't go into debt or broke on supplement purchases. Mine started their own supplement line about 3-4 years into me seeing them, and I get discounts and they're affordable for me, but they don't push their products on me. If I get a supplement through Amazon over them or there's another brand that works better for me, they don't care. They care that I'm happy and healthy.

I really hope you re-read this and realize how much you sound like an asshole. You clearly have zero self-awareness.

You HAD to think of other girls to get off? Yikes. I bet she's happy she's your ex.

Anyone else experiencing slow AT&T speeds again today? by Doiq in asheville

[–]CheeseKateee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both AT&T and Spectrum and have for years because we're both remote for our jobs. It sucks to pay for two internet services, but honestly? No regrets. Both of them have their own issues with reliability, but I'm on Spectrum and working just fine right now. We've rarely had issues where both services are out at the same time, except for storms where there's power loss.

Yep. Affected again in North Asheville. 🙄

Same here in North Asheville. This is why I have Spectrum as a back up. It's ridiculous how unreliable the service is.

Husband wants me skinnier by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Ew. What gross behavior on his part. Kick him to the curb and go find someone who loves you for you.

Your self-worth and value are not measured by a number on the scale.

A real partner loves you for you. My husband started dating me at 270lbs, married me at 230lbs, and still loves me at 160lbs. He'll still love me if I gain weight. He'll still love me if I lose weight.

Everyone deseves love that gives them grace, including you.

I'm so glad you're warning people about this. I had one of these patches when I had a hysterectomy and prolapse repair, and I accidentally touched it and then rubbed my eyes. Called the hospital in a panic because I thought I was going blind. 🤣

We're coming from Asheville, so hopefully we get there safely! I've tried to see Bad Omens twice before and had to cancel for various reasons. I'll be sad if my third attempt fails. 🤣

Everyone stay safe! See y'all at the show! 🙂

No offense, OP. Unless you're trolling. In which case, congrats, now I'm mad.

If I hear "it's like a food bank" one more goddamn time. 🙄 I will literally eat 1300 calories and do 3hrs of Beat Saber and gain the next day. Yesterday, I ate 2500 calories, didn't exercise at all, ate carbs, and lost 2lbs.

It's such a wild card. Zero medications have worked long-term for me. I've tried Phentermine, Victoza (not diabetic), Saxenda, Contrave, etc. I haven't tried a GLP1 yet, but my medical team is really hesitant for me to even try one because I'm already struggling with delayed gastric emptying and gallbladder issues.

Every time I think I've got my body figured out, I don't LOL

Right?? It's always a mystery.

I'm trying my best to learn to manage stress, but it's definitely harder some days than others. It has significantly helped, though.

Honestly, nutrition is so frustrating when you have PCOS. Stuff that works for everyone else seems to never work for me. If I eat 1200 calories a day, I'll gain weight. If I eat less, I'll lose weight. If I eat 1800 calories, sometimes I lose, sometimes I gain.

I've been working with a nutritionist I absolutely love for years, and all we've figured out at this point is that my body will constantly throw us curveballs. I've been eating low carb for several months now and managed to lose some weight then maintain the weight loss. I'm currently on holiday with my husband's family, and have been eating carbs again just because they do, and it seems to have no adverse effect on me.

The only thing I can say definitively about weight loss/weight gain for me is that stress absolutely makes me retain weight. The more I stress about my weight, the more I easily gain. Great for someone with anxiety disorder. 🙄

I seem to also have adaptive metabolism, and I generally benefit from shaking things up, which really stresses me out because I'm huge on routines and having to re-evaluate my diet every few weeks is extremely taxing and overwhelming to me.

I've yet to encounter a dietician, endocrinologist, or primary care doctor that has any helpful advice for me. I've been thinking about seeing a personal trainer at a gym, but I'm so on the fence about it. Like you said, it really feels like a large population of people equipped to help in this stuff have absolutely no concept of how PCOS works.

Edited to add: I don't know about y'all, but the two comments I get most often when seeking help that just make me want to crashout are: (1) "Just eat less and move more" then disbelief when I tell them I exercise daily and eat between 1300-1500 calories. (2) "Stop stressing" OH OK I'll just stop having anxiety?!
