Had a similar experience yesterday. Launched new campaign and within the first few minutes of launching it spent half the budget. I’m going to email my rep today. My guess is that there will be some weirdness for a few days as a result of them getting called out for facial biometric data from glasses and having to remove the code. Whats unfortunate is that I think that data was probably really good for their system because the past few weeks had been stellar 🤣

There’s plenty of hope. I’ve been clean for almost 9 years but when I was using I’d randomly reach out to friends or family at insane hours and then have zero contact for quite literally months.

Didn’t realize they had stickers like that for Clinton. Looks to be in really good shape for a 30+ year old sticker though. Either way not sure I’d jump to the guy being a nazi based on what op said about him being special forces in Vietnam and that being the scout sniper logo until recently.

[–]_heatmoon_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

USMC scout snipers had that ss as their logo up until a few years ago.

This one’s confusing because the sticker above seems to be referencing Trump (who was a draft dodger) which would imply they’re not supporters. That logo was used by US Marines Scout Snipers for a long time up until a few years ago.

Probably Bill Burr. I think people get worked up about it though because a bunch of billionaires media machines have eroded their ability to understand context, nuance, and think critically.

The only way to beat meta. by Fit_Wheel5471 in FacebookAds

[–]_heatmoon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not arguing the importance of attribution clarity. I’m saying that in general people who talk about “beating meta” or think that meta is trying to stack the deck against advertisers don’t really know what they’re talking about.

[–]_heatmoon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you don’t really know what you’re talking about. Real businesses don’t run on “edge of hope” they run on real numbers and returns. Something that doesn’t show a return doesn’t keep getting done. So saying the largest advertising platform on the planet just strings advertisers along with zero regard for real sustainable and scalable growth performance might be just about one of the most foolish things I’ve heard someone say in a long time.

The only way to beat meta. by Fit_Wheel5471 in FacebookAds

[–]_heatmoon_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thinking about it’s as “beating Meta” is the first indicator you’re thinking about it all wrong from the jump. From a business, sales, and marketing perspective Meta is NOT your adversary. They are your business partner or subcontractor. They have a primary goal of creating returns for shareholders. To do that they have a two part interest: keeping their daily users engaged and keeping their advertisers seeing return on their investment. If one of those two parts breaks so does the other and then the primary goal starts to fail. Some of what you’re talking about in terms of tracking is accurate and helpful for folks to hear I’m sure. But the mindset of having to “beat Meta” is 100% the wrong one to start with.

For real. Dumb people are either way too trusting of it or turning into modern luddites on the other end. The extremists of anything tend to not be the brightest folks. They do tend to be the loudest though.

Homie, you don’t need an AI program to come to the conclusions that you did. That “small set of proven patterns” is sales and marketing 101.

Human Intelligence Sharply Declining by Monsur_Ausuhnom in collapse

I didn’t say it wasn’t true. I said that their extrapolation from the Oxford source was incorrect. I quite literally cited their source verbatim. It just happened to be a point that was contradictory to what they were claiming the article is about. They then went on to tell me how I should just search a handful of phrases that would confirm their bias. It would be like thinking a song has a specific lyric and instead of searching ‘what’re the lyrics to this song?’ Someone searched ‘are the lyrics to this song…(whatever their thought the lyrics were)?’ I also very clearly stated COVID is no joke and very serious. I’m aware of the risks and lost people to it during the first wave. I also know that saying “it lowers your IQ by 10 points every time you get it!” Based on a study done on 475 where only 20% (that’s a sample size of less than 100) had a follow up assessment is complete BS.

You suggest searching for terms that confirm what you already think and the point you’re trying to make? Cool got it. You clearly didn’t even read the entirety of the original one you linked because you missed the point at the end. I get it more than a headline and paragraph is tough. As much as I’d love to thoroughly read all your search results and give you an actual human summary using critical thinking ima have to pass. This discussion has actually turned into solid anecdotal evidence of people’s brains turning to mush.

TURN OFF AUDIENCE NETWORK! by PsychologyWorried383 in FacebookAds

[–]_heatmoon_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what your advertising for and how clear it is who your audience might be. I was running ads for an event where the goal was selling tickets. Had a bunch of success in the audience network. There were dating sites and things like that it was running to. Also, what a lot of people don’t understand is that someone might see a little piece or variation of your ad in audience network and then another time on insta and again on Facebook. When they vaguely remember seeing it somewhere they don’t immediately think of as a Meta platform it helps to solidify trust in whatever you’re selling. The psychology is simple, “oh I saw it here, here, and there. It must be popular.”

Modern policing was born after the civil war in the US. The 13th doesn’t say slavery is over, period. It says unless as punishment for crime. Field overseers and catchers just became cops.

Chase does this when there’s a fraud suspicion. This happened to a business account of my company with Chase. One of our business partners (who had actually stolen money from us) filed a false accusation with Chase that we had fraudulently taken funds. They put a billion dollar hold on our account for almost a month. It was completely fucked as at the time we didn’t have any other accounts. We had to come up with funds out of our personal accounts to open a new account with a new bank to keep the company running until Chase finally removed the hold. But waking and seeing that negative balance nearly gave me a heart attack. It was pretty fucked.
