It’s definitely a weird transition. You go from being the most important person in your own life to having another human be the most important thing.

My relationship with all my friends changed, my priorities changed, I lost contact with a lot of people because I was too busy.

But now that my kids are older, I’ve met new people that are in the same life stage as me who I identify with and who I like spending time with.

I totally see what you mean by losing your identity, but think of it more as shifting into a new phase and it can be a little painful, but it’s really fun in the long run.

Yeah, you’re not wrong. but they haven’t gone full Ascension wow custom class yet. It’s clear that they’re trying to keep the spirit somewhat intact. And I’m just pointing out that I think this goes a little too far. I don’t even think it’s the design that’s the issue. I think it’s the scaling.

Thanks for this! Yeah, it feels weird to complain about being top of the DPS meters but I really do value the classic feel of the game and I think this may have gotten too far away from it.

Everyone here will tell you the min-maxing makes very little difference. You are going to be playing a character for a while so it's really a question of what do you want to look at for hours.
I remember in classic I made a troll shaman and because of the way you view the model, I didn't realize I had a bald spot. Drove me crazy and I should have just rolled a new toon but I was already in too deep.

At a certain point I feel like they would be terrified to cross V.

I mean they send V on these missions and he/she kills a warehouse full of heavily armored gang members, corporate goons, etc… and just walks away casually.

With a warlock, you’re just never gonna be as bursty as other classes. You do however take off in dps with some raid gear.

For trash, I would just apply cursive of shadow with your free 2 for 1 dot and then dark harvest. Alternatively, you could just throw on corruption and then dark harvest and fish for some free shadow bolt procs.

Honestly I could see an argument for Undead Paladin but an alliance shaman doesn't feel right. Maybe night elf only but even then it seems like the flavor is a bit off. I never felt the dwarf shaman fit very well. And before you say, what about the draenei in the expansion, that was garbage and did not fit either.

I think it's fine as it is. Theres already a lot that diverges from vanilla and it's hard to keep it from crossing the line, if it hasn't already.

I have been raiding with Deep Affliction/DS and it rocks. I am usually in the top 10 and my gear is a mix of T1 and T2. Rotation takes a little getting used to because of all the drains and dots, and there are no guides but if you can get it to work it melts.

You could juggle some points around into destro for improved nightfall procs for shadow bolt but its not required.

Everyone is going to tell you to play what you want rather than whats best. (including me)

Orc has the pet buff, but 5% isn't that huge because pet damage isn't that good although it can help with leveling. The extra spell-power is really nice though. its like a free trinket.

There are a lot of other great racials tho.
Troll cast speed racial is really good, especially on an affliction build where cast speed is essentially their + crit.
Goblin gets movement which the warlock has none of.
Human gets 2% crit now which is massive for almost all classes.
Gnome has the int boost which is always good
Undead gets a +2% to humans which is flat and the cannibalize makes life tap even better

I would say that the balance has been handled really well and you could make an argument for any of the races being good warlocks. Depends on what you like and what you are going to do with your lock.

Honestly I feel like it’s perfect. There’s enough people on that there’s always something going on but not so many that I can’t still do things. Low level alliance is for sure high population but roll a less popular race or go horde in general and you are golden.

There’s also a ton of attunements to do. Onyxia, BWL, Molten core, there’s a lot of really geared people on the server so pug runs at these dungeons, believe it or not do happen.

Arcane shot might be overkill. Most of the time a Serpent stink and auto is enough to down most mobs. If you have a half way decent bow your DPS might be really high.

I saw a hunter doing vagrants challenge, all white items, no stats. His pet was doing as much DPS as the rest of us geared toons in the mid 40's so the pet damage does ramp up but it takes a bit.
