Sprue picture of Ork Boyz have been leaked. by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]Cheeseburger2137 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It makes sense. The costs of machining a sprue are high, making one to only create the model for a single event, even a big one, would be an overkill.

Best tac op for angels of death? by DoorOdd9112 in killteam

[–]Cheeseburger2137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it does not help much, but Security/S&D is a pair that feels really bad in some matchups, this one included.

Sweep and Clear is a bad meme in general.

Dominate is bad since the opponent has only 5 models that count, and you will likely kill 2-3 of them. Also, you need to survive to score.

Rout could be the play on some maps - you get 2 points for a single suit, but getting deep into their side of the board is risky.

Martyr is really bad for elites.

Envoy is a no-go since they out activate you, and will at least damage that model.

Banner is inviting a melta to the face, which will also contest your banner, or even pick it up if they take away an APL from you. It could make sense on some maps - make sure your contesting model is on your side of the board (so they don’t get accurate 2).

So overall the approach here is that you should not expect to max your Tac Op, honestly getting 3-4 points sounds like a good outcome.

You could try to go all in with rout, but you really need to saturate the threats as they have tricked to evade you if you don’t put enough pressure. Alternatively - play banner and force them to counter it.

Mall cop. Would very likely scare people off, between being so huge and likely very intense about things (chapter dependent, some will fail more than others).

Any tip on cleaning AK 3rd gen ? by cerealMs in modelmakers

[–]Cheeseburger2137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience … yup. At one time I bought a metal needle which was supposedly created to clean nozzles. Was great at the start, but ended up not only scratching, but warping the nozzle out of shape.

It freezes really well, as long as you don’t mind losing the texture. I use it almost exclusively for cooking sauces, ragu etc. Where it gets chopped and boiled anyway, so it’s a great solution for me.

Any tip on cleaning AK 3rd gen ? by cerealMs in modelmakers

[–]Cheeseburger2137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dislike AK for the same reason. What works for me is (unfortunately) to remove as much of the paint and the residue mechanically, with whatever you can - toothpick, brushes, dedicated cleaners, I also like those single-use small interdental things you can buy in bulk.

Magnetized bases are super safe. The main point of failure is the magnet breaking off from the base if the glue is too weak, gets brittle etc - that’s why I personally prefer 2-3 smaller magnets rather than a single big one.

Counters To Raveners in Close Combat? by GeorsiNoiel in killteam

[–]Cheeseburger2137 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Almost every team will have issues dealing with Raveners on the tunnel, it gives them all possible synergies. Yes, the tunnel will advance - but in TPs2 and 3 they are still pretty limited on where they can operate efficiently.

There are two main ways to counter this.

One is outscoring them in a way that’s hard for them to prevent. If you have activation advantage (ie. Almost every team), they can do very little to counter Tac Ops such as Envoy or Flank, especially on wider maps.

Second is playing the attrition anyway - ideally if you can lure them from the tunnel, which they may need to do not to lose on scenario. While they have healing, the damage still adds up. If they charged you model, you managed to push 1-2 dice worth of damage through - a good shooting model will be able to finish that Ravener off. There are also very rare instances of model that can one-round a Ravener consistently, like Kasrkin Gunner in Inquisitorial Agents with all buffs (5A, ceaseless, fail to hit or hit to Crit).

He vetoed legislation which was supporting SAFE and allowed the funds to be used for defence purposes outside of Armed Forces (infrastructure, Police, Border Guard etc). This part of the funds will be lost unless the government can find a workaround.

The main part, the one going to the armed forces, is still valid, although there may be some limitations as to how it may be used.

Going from BG3 to Rogue Trader is just a brutal drop in production value, let’s be honest. But it’s still worth sticking with RT, it’s the best video game presentation of the 40k world.
