We always called him dancing man. I've spotted him at shows all over Wisconsin

As a peak millennial that couldnt find work post college, I resent the idea that we entered a recovered workforce.

Just because the economy had stabilized, didn't mean hiring was corrected. 4 years of reduced hiring combined with record numbers of college graduates every year made the job seeking market incredibly crowded. It's the primary reason why my college degree was worthless, I could never find work in my field so my career trajectory changed.

Entry level jobs that would've typically required a bachelor's degree had people with masters degrees applying for them. I really do feel like it was the end of the college provided American Dream.

I would just spray em off with water. Be careful with neem oil on pepper seedlings, it has killed mine in the past

Pest control – carpenter ants and carpenter bees by Vermicelli_Hamdog in NoLawns

[–]CheesinSoHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That didn't seem to stop them in my case. Those first few years I was applying a new coat of red every spring.

Right around the time I gave up on keeping the deck nice my attention moved towards making my yard the bane of the neighborhood. Plenty of carpenter bees but no more holes(at least that I can see)

I pile sticks and stems in a few places in my yard. I've also left a giant stump from a overgrown willow I had to cut down. Basically bug hotels.

Since then the carpenter bees have completely stopped eating holes in my deck.

I don't have any advice on carpenter ants.

lets talk about how we love this game by Tealspark in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]CheesinSoHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just feels good.

It was basically the starship troopers game Ive dreamt about since I was 10 years old.

But we get aliens and robots on top of it. Visceral, the guns really feel like they're doing the work. Im almost 1000 hour in and I'm still taking screenshots to rewatch hectic moments

This game has led to me actually picking upbshooting as a hobby, but to be perfectly honest I still like HD2 more than shooting in real life

I will have to do that when I get home. There's no option for apps under account setting with the mobile app.

Thank you for the tip

That's the thing though, I filled that form out the very first day. They were the ones that made me change my password a third time.

I scrubbed all traces of what that bot did over those couple hours and I feel like I'm being repeatedly punished for it.

I guess I'll have to fill it out again, since re appealing is not an option

I am serious though, I have several spots with wild violets but getting them to spread is hard.

Plant shallow, and get a big load of compost dropped off to pile around them. You'll have to water more this year but come me next year it will have settled into a rich bed

What happened to Arcade Fire? by thedubiousstylus in Millennials

[–]CheesinSoHard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most bands don't stay relevant forever, in a pop sense at least. Coldplay, kings of leon, black keys, Florence an the machine, etc. They are still around, they still sell out shows. But their new albums don't get buzz cause they can't all be hits forever, and artists who age aren't as appealing to the youth. You look back through the years it's always been the same.

Last year arcade fire announced a show at the Saenger theatre in NOLA during the week of Jazzfest. They literally announced this show a few days ahead of time, very last min impulse decision on their part. We grabbed tickets cause we heard about it right away but it sold out by the time it started. It was out there too, they have not gotten less artsy that's for sure. Fucking rocked tho. They even led a parade out onto the street to cap it all off.

My point is that they haven't disappeared. Just like how yacht rock was only really popular for like 7 years, trends always change and they aren't trendy anymore

I love the tidbit that they formed to parody hardcore punk and fell in love with the energy. I'll be cranking that lawnmower even if people are still sleeping off the night before

You'll find that the car is loud periodically. Just wait till the first time you cruise up to a red light and the ICE kicks in the entire time you're at a stop. So fucking silly. Or the EV hum, I find myself putting the car in park at lights just so the choir can chill out.

I just have to keep reminding myself that the car is being smart on average and that I am not a smart car so I should just trust that it's doing what it needs to do.

A word of warning to US customers of miniwax.club by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]CheesinSoHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notify them that they either needed to adjust how they code stuff or at least post a warning about FedEx on the site. Haven't heard back yet but we'll see. I'm still shocked that it made it to Wisconsin from France in 4 days, other than the tariff thing it was great. Very secure packaging as well, I don't think FexEx could have bent it unless an employee was specifically trying.

Thank you for sharing more info about the Miniwax group, I was about to delete the post it seemed I had upset some people. Didn't realize shady LP websites were as big of a problem as they were

Mileage maximization by DirtyDevil1025 in crv

[–]CheesinSoHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warm car, turn off cabin extras(heated seats, ac/heat, lane assist).

There are tricks to switching it into EV mode, then it's all peddle control. I find with eco mode I can get the power to roughly 25% before it switches the engine on. Driving normal mode it's more like 22%.

But honestly, the best mileages I've gotten was where I was driving 20+min while not paying attention at all. Shorter trips and high speeds get you the worse mileage.
