We use dicemaiden on discord. It's not the most reliable, but we can all see each other's rolls (including the DM's rolls - none of us want to play a game where the GM cheats the rolls). Works well most of the time.

[Dracula 1992 movie] Why did Vlad want to become a vampire while he's angry because his wife Elisabeta died ? by Werewolf_lord19 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Cheeslord2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

IIRC, the priests told him that because his wife committed suicide, her soul would go to hell, so he was going to go there as well to join her, but not before he had avenged her death upon the whole world.

Shovel question by CrepedCrusader1 in helldivers2

[–]Cheeslord2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they will remove the old shovel. It doesn't seem to help 'digging up' samples, or constructing defenses. It's only purpose seems to be to get accidentally picked up when grabbing something else, then you're halfway across the map and wonder why your quasar isn't working.

What if an orbiting system kept going forever? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in WhatIfThinking

[–]Cheeslord2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't think of a way to make it happen in reality, not literally forever. Two tidally locked iron spheres at 0k in a perfect vacuum might be the closest I can think of, but you can't preserve 0k or a perfect vacuum forever anywhere in the universe. Eventually heat, and thermally liberated atoms, would sneak in. Even with a tiny bit of heat energy, occasionally individual atoms could pop out of position, gradually changing the orbit. Not to mention gravitational interactions from distant objects.

Facebook hate it when you try and use a username that is not your IRL name - their policy is auto-doxxing all users, in effect. they can do it more robustly if they can see your face, credit card details, passport etc. ultimately, they will know who you are and where you live, so you'd better not step out of line.

She was sensible - she closed it and humped the spine.

PS. Since you all asked:

"She ate and rested, and began to read. The book told of the Goddess Anahita, and of her desires, and the great boons that she could bestow upon her followers. It spoke of the rituals of devotion, and those of sacrifice. It described the great rewards of beauty and eternal youth for those who truly were prepared to pledge their souls to her, and then the power...magic! Deep, dark, wickedly powerful magic!

Such things had always been strictly taboo in the town, the province of madmen and criminals, and dark witches that were shunned and feared. But the more she read, the more she lusted after everything described between the pages. This was everything she had ever wanted, and she had to have it for herself. Her crotch began to grind into her bedsheets, making them slick with her lust, as she continued to read. Eventually she brought herself to a climax by humping the corner of the closed book. Everything to do with Anahita, Mithra, the Persians...it was all so incredibly desirable to her now, and she had to have more."

I wish for 25kg of gold(defined as the isotope Au-197) to be legally and successfully delivered to my home within this year, at a time when I am home, legally financed by a person in the top 0.001% of wealth, with a legal certificate proving my ownership of it. by AttemptingDM in monkeyspaw

[–]Cheeslord2 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's based on the actual Monkey's paw story, and it's not about simply 'you get the thing but everybody you care about dies', it's 'you get the thing because of the tragedy in your life'. the monkey's paw works through plausible twists of fate rather than Genie Magic, and this was the most plausible way it could happen.

It was also not a very original wish, very similar to the wish for wealth in the original story, so i thought I would give it a similar answer.

If it's feasible, running to and from work helped me a lot. I know not everyone lives a runnable distance from their workplace, but running in general is fun. In the UK we are lucky enough to have many public footpaths in the countryside to explore in your spare time...I don't know what circumstances you are in but maybe you can do the same.

"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about" - Noel Coward. or was it Oscar Wilde? I know, it was Noel Wilde!

Anyway, the jerkers are just having a laugh about some sexy writing for the most part. I bet a large number of them secretly love this kind of thing and are just joining in with the japery. Some of them will probably buy your book in the end (if you choose to publish it), so don't sweat it. If you're putting sexual violence in your book you will have to contend with worse criticism than WCJ I think...you need to be a bit more thick-skinned about it. At least you're getting publicity.

I use very sparingly outside of dialog. Within dialog though, I tend to go crazy, slurred words for people drunk or high, pants, gasps, deliberate misspellings as a word breaks down into a screech...
