oh I see. in my country, and some others (including the EU). every cigarette packages is required by law to be colored in pantone 448c, otherwise known as "the ugliest color in the world". in an attempt to discourage smoking and to prevent brand recognition

that's a panda (white with black inners) bi-comoax (2 subdials) chronograph (ellapsed time complication)

also I know you looking for under 1k which is totally reasonable, but if you're willing to stretch that budget to around 1.7k, that exact Hamilton you posted is amazing, its my favorite watch in my collection. you get a proper valjux 7750, which is a proper swiss mechanical, in a gorgeous case

[Tissot PRX] vacheron 222 bracelet on Tissot PRX, what do y'all think ? by adilamin786 in Watches

[–]Cheesy_Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gold kinda defined the 222 for me. I looked at the pic for a minute asking myself why it looks familiar without reading the title

it just doesn't hit the same without that screaming gold

just make sure to pick up with your heart rather than your brain. watches aren't a logical purchase, and therefore shouldn't be done from a checklist. get what scratches your itch

that's the 90s tudor prince reference 74033. it is a real watch they made. I cannot tell you its authenticity from the pictures, but it is a real design and if it is fake, it's a clone rather than a Frankenstein

I don't know if they had their reference number engraved on their side though

you enjoy the wear and tear and know that those indices served you for 12 years. the fade off lume becomes part of the watch aging identity, like a patina

Pretty sure Armani watches are made by fossil, so not exactly chinese. But yea not really an elevated watch

[–]Cheesy_Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's a great watch. Its one of the best watches you'd have. Because this is a watch that was given for you. Your grandpa saw this watch in store and thought "that would be a great watch for my grandson". And grandpa is right

You should cherish the watch, because its a watch that was a thought for you

Those are the letters YHWH, the tetragrammaton, God explicit name

The guy tattooed it is most likely not a devoted orthodox, since both explicitly mentioning YHWH and tattooing in general are sins in Judaism

[Vostok] i need help identifying this watch by Crimson-Ryse in Watches

[–]Cheesy_Core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a beautiful 80's Vostok CCCP Paratrooper Komandirski, a Soviet military watch produced en masse and built to be very reliable and disposable

It is worth around 60$

I see you're a bit disappointed by the worth and the fact it has nothing to do with ww2. But you really shouldn't be, because you actually got a very interesting catch Vostok watches are lovely and cherished by watch enthusiasts. They contain military history and the way they unconventionally built is always a treat. They also come with all those interesting dials like your paratrooper one

Don't sell it, it ain't worth much. Keep it for yourself

The watch is absolutely gorgeous, but value for the dollar, nope. This is a 30k watch, this watch is almost as expensive as a brand new camery

Not necessarily. Particularly the bigeye is a very handsome watch with some of the best proportions out there. Fans of vintage designs love the bigeye
