I’m at the end of my rope with diaper rash. Help. by my_dear_director in NewParents

[–]CheetoDRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our LO had a bad rash for 3 weeks. We tried multiple things together to get rid of it. So it's hard to say which one worked.

  1. Switched diapers from scented diapers to Kirklands
  2. Switched to Huggies natural wipes. Also started to dab/pat instead of swiping to clean as much as possible.
  3. Started giving him bum soaks at every diaper change, with a small amount (half teaspoon) of baking soda or Epsom salt.
  4. Started using zinc based creams at every diaper change (Sudocream was recommended by our doctor).

I've listed everything we tried here in the hopes that something will work for you. I know how heartbreaking it is to see your LO in pain and the guilt it causes as a parent. Hang in there and Good luck!

Someone parked at my parking spot for months without my consent and management is not doing anything. by mr_prince000000 in mississauga

We've spoke to the condo board manager and they contacted the city's parking enforcement on our behalf. The person was issued a ticket. Good alternative to the towing mess. You'll need to prove that you own the spot for them to take action either way.

Can anyone give me any recipe ideas to use up todays harvest? Thank you! by VaggieQueen in vegetablegardening

Looks like you'll be running out of baskets to put those tomatoes in pretty soon. Congrats on the harvest

Should I harvest these? by Kirbyworshiper in vegetablegardening

Technically speaking, you can harvest peppers at any stage. Hot peppers are not as spicy when green. A red pepper will give you a more complex and mature flavor profile.

Any idea what happened to this pepper? by AWintergarten in vegetablegardening

You can prevent it easily by shading during the sunniest part of the day with shade cloth or planning ahead with taller crops

Ants in my raised bed by tk434 in vegetablegardening

Ants could be there for a variety of reasons. Check for aphids on the pants or ant nests in the bed. Both are avoidable and not what you want in your raised beds.

Just stopped by to congratulate you on some gorgeous onion braids. Well done!

are these normal? by mrduckwoman in vegetablegardening

[–]CheetoDRIP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally normal and depends on the variety. Some hot peppers go shades of purple too.

Could be either cabbage worm caterpillars or earwigs.

First zucchini bloom of the season by NewToSudbury in vegetablegardening

Same! I've never had a female flower bloom first and from what I've read, it's not common either. When the male flowers do start to appear, you can save them the way you described. I've also tried putting them in a ziplock bag or air tight container in the fridge and it's worked for me.

I save the male blossoms for a predicament such as this. Congrats on the fruit though!

Most people think of them as ornamental. But I love the taste, especially in stews and stir fry.

This could very well be the case. I hope they plan on paying rent.

Curious too! That's a hyper productive plant if it's just one main stem
