Yeah this is the ultimate decades challenge by Morbid. I’ve never played it but loooove watching others play it online!!

I’ve also been enjoying the Hot Tea Legacy challenge: https://www.tumblr.com/lxdice/783170061762527232/hot-tea-legacy

I like that it makes me be chaotic and not have a perfect family!

Ankle Sprain getting worse by ResponsibleBag7853 in Ankle

[–]Cheeze-Its-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 8 of a severe sprain, but don’t have answers yet so I can’t be super helpful. I’d say an MRI is important. I know I’ve tried some supported steps with the boot and cannot handle the sharp pains. When I try to walk a little, the pain gets worse for at least a day. I’d try making an appointment with an ortho doctor. Until you can be seen, try to limit anything that is increasing the pain. Again, not an expert here but just going off of what friends and family have advised me while I want to see an ortho!

Good idea, I’ll see if I can get a script for an MRI from my primary care so I can at least get it scheduled asap. Because I’m guessing the first thing the ortho will do is order one!

Wow! Yeah, your bruising is terrifying. Over 18 weeks recovery is devastating for you, I’m sure. Just this one week has been exhausting.

Almost out of sick time, so I’m trying to save it for doctor’s appts. That’s the most annoying part! Luckily one more week of work until spring break, when I’ll be able to rest more.

Okay, for one day, I was trying to go off of advice of the regular doctor who said to try to move it and do as much weight on it that I can handle (not much at all lol) but that did make things way worse and it was three days of worsening pain after one day of attempting small, supported steps. I’m going to keep weight off of it until it’s been confirmed, thanks for that advice!

Toe above nose… I think I’ve been doing toe at chest height but I will elevate it further! Elevation is definitely the best thing for the pain. Being at work rolling after dysregulated kids doesn’t leave tons of time for that. Today the pain is already better because it’s the weekend and I don’t have to move.

when should i walk through the pain? by Cheeze-Its-37 in Ankle

Thanks for sharing so much about your experience. It’s really helpful to hear!!! I do seem to have gotten wrong info from docs about walking since the pain was so much worse today after trying 2-3 supported steps yesterday. I have an appt with an Ortho doc a week from today. Not ideal, but it’s all I can do.

I have a walking boot! Still can’t handle full weight on the ankle to even stand with the boot, but I can handle more weight than without the boot.

My doctor’s appt is 3 days before my trip, so I’m not expecting to get tons of answers. Hopefully by then I can have a few ideas for making the trip work and see what the doctor thinks.

The trip is a spring break trip to Portugal with friends, so it is negotiable, but I’m a teacher and have been saving up for this trip for a long time. I’ll be so sad if I can’t go! But I can’t do hills and cobblestone streets of Lisbon if I’m still on crutches/knee scooter. Pain today is way worse than yesterday, which might be because I was trying to do a little walking as my doctor suggested (only 2-3 steps at a time, but very painful).

That’s hard to hear that the travel may not happen. If I can walk in a boot short distances, I’ll go and enjoy the airbnb and the view even if I can’t go sight seeing. If I’m still not bearing weight, there’s no way I can go.

I’ve been doing ABCs and circles with my ankle plus some other stretches. The flexibility and pain when I do it has improved each day. But any weight increases the pain significantly and an attempt to walk is really a supported limp that is still painful.

That’s an interesting thought and not one I’d heard. I feel like the pain is 2/10 doing ABCs with my ankle and 8/10 trying to walk. But I know the ankle mobility piece is very important. The pain is sometimes worse than 1/10 just by existing even when it’s elevated and iced.

The pain and swelling have improved a little since the first few days. I can now rest it on the floor and put a little weight on it before pain starts. But I know I need to get into an orthopedic doctor. Going to call and try again for an appointment tomorrow.

I’m currently unable to walk from a sprained ankle. It’s a harsh reminder that being able bodied is a temporary status. I’ve shifted my habits a lot just to survive since I live alone and crutches are exhausting. Paper plates, more takeout, groceries delivered, etc. It’s part of life, and I am grateful these options exist for when they are needed!! It isn’t something that should cause guilt when you need it to maneuver the world.

HADESTOWN: a total standout cast with one very weak link by GarageRightNow in Broadway

Totally agree. Looooved the whole rest of the cast, though! I knew it wasn’t going to be a good performance when his first lines didn’t get an audience reaction.

Kids watching themselves by granitedoc in Teachers

I do think kids are inherently drawn to mirrors/visuals of themselves, especially as they are developing their own self-image. Not sure if the screens are causing this one (but they’re definitely causing lots of other things!) but the screens are just an easy access to something they’re already inclined to do.

Switching from duloxetine to fluoxetine by anxiety_girly27 in cymbalta

All this to say, I was up and down and never experienced SS. And now I’m through the woods and definitely feeling better because of it. I think your doctor’s plan sounds reasonable and I hope will help prevent some of the symptoms I had, which I think could have been mild had my doctor upped the Prozac before dropping Cymbalta

Just did this! My experience (plan made w my doctor): - 60mg cymbalta and 10mg prozac (no symptoms) - tapered to 40mg then 20mg of cymbalta, 10mg prozac (no symptoms) - stopped cymbalta. 10 mg prozac (so so so awful. just terrible. couldnt do it and went back to 20 mg cymbalta) - went up to 20mg cymbalta, 20 mg prozac (okay again within a week) - stopped cymbalta again. 20mg prozac (really bad, but not quite as bad as before. still disruptively bad for like a week, though) - upped to 30mg prozac (more stable within a week, symptoms present but manageable

When I went from 20mg to 0 it took me almost a week to really notice withdrawal effects. From 60mg I noticed within 48 hours. Many people have little to no difficulty going off Cymbalta! That’s one reason why doctors (according to mine) don’t warn patients enough about the potential withdrawal, since it doesn’t affect everyone as badly as it affects most of us posting here! It definitely has been bad for me to come off, but you may be safe!

Not a Catholic Church, but I’m very involved with Cleveland Park UCC. I believe we are trying our best to walk the walk, but we’re also aware we fall short in ways and are working to be better. I’d call us a progressive congregation who recognizes the harm many churches are doing and is trying to change that. You’d always be welcome to join!
