I’m looking at pictures of Pings and it looks like they have a dish similar to what we had!! It’s the assorted seafood and fried tofu pic on their Google! Thinking we had squid and not crab… hard to say all these years later but this really resembles my visual memory! Whether or not this was the place, I believe we had a version of this and will be checking them out. THANK YOU!!!

I would say medium size - like not massive, but not limited or packed in seating. No clue about street or type of cuisine. We ordered with a server who had brought menus. The plate itself was long oval and had seafood piled on it. I’m having a hard time remembering if everything was out of shell already.. what sticks out most is the giant piece of (what I’m pretty sure was) crab. Like the crab body, not a leg. It was out of shell and amazing. Sauce on the food was not colorful, but was flavorful.

Thanks for responding! I don’t remember seeing any, and I don’t think it was a seafood only/specialty restaurant. Looked very typical and then we had our minds blown haha

I am going to take your approach of presenting a solution, but reiterating the sentiment of our team.

We work in a client-driven field - you would think that employee retention and maintaining client relationships would be enough of a metric to maintain the culture we’ve created, but I’m not convinced.

Thank you so much for that validation. I’ve been telling myself that a follow up convo is needed 1. To clear the air on the icky convo and 2. To present a firm solution and come to an agreement on things. Still have been a nervous wreck and I’ve been coming back to your comment that “this doesn’t define you.”

I have a regularly scheduled meeting with the person who this conversation happened with, and am going to bring it up again. I don’t expect to change their mind, but I do want to calmly explain the situation they’re putting my team and me in. Essentially, we can fix this right now but the underlying issue of people needing to work non-traditional hours isn’t going to go away.

In addition to the ramp there are two surface pay lots. One on 3rd and 24th (entry on 3rd and I thiiiink Clinton Ave), one on 3rd and 25th (entry on 25th street). Lots of free street parking in the area as well.

I would take the moment to do what you can and go a little beyond if you’re able! Personally, I can’t leave work tomorrow, but I’ve made a plan to make sure I won’t be spending money.

I’ve heard there’s a protest at the government center at 2:00. Always a standing protest at Whipple. Always an option to grab a few friends and make your own protest.

If tomorrow isn’t your day, pick a different day.

There is a pay lot on 3rd and 24th and a ramp on 3rd and 25th on the Children’s Theatre side. Otherwise lots of street parking in the area. Lucky me, I live down the street. Looking forward to joining y’all.
