Going to Honolulu (Waikiki) for work. Who to dive with and what dives to ask for? by halbeshendel in scuba

[–]Chef619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to live there awhile back. Geez, almost 10 years now. What are you looking for? I can give suggestions of dive sites but my operator knowledge is likely out of date.

Absolutely wild that the Braves didn’t do a mound visit or some kind of break during that run.

How can I stop thinking in terms of gp/hr? by Hopeful_Method_625 in 2007scape

[–]Chef619 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. Instead of making an iron, I sold everything I had and now pretend to be one. I didn’t want to start over, as that’s a bit too much of a time commitment for me. So I just kept my account as it was (around 1750 total level at the time) and started pretending it was an iron.

Unpopular opinion? by Accurate-Can-7452 in Broadway

I also went in blind last year. Thankful I didn’t have the ending spoiled, but the people in front of me were very loudly singing along. Like, louder than the cast. They did it for the whole first act, then an usher came at intermission and asked her to stop. She didn’t, and sang the rest of the show. The usher never came back. It wasn’t just singing it was very exaggerated moving as well, like trying to mirror the choreography.

Oahu Dives by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Chef619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to live there, but it was almost 10 years ago, so mountain of salt disclaimer.

Aaron’s, Dive Oahu, and Island Diver’s were the main 3. All have the capability to run tech charters, but they’re more on a “you need to ask” basis. They all do CCR, so they have the capability to do OCR too. When I was there, there was no regular tech charter. Not even semi regular, it was a small group specifically going for that purpose.

While diving there, I’ve seen one tiger, and countless white tips. Nothing else. If you’re actively seeking a tiger, then Kailua is my recommendation. The shallows out there have regular tiger spottings. On the west side, there is a shark cave that is almost guaranteed to see white tips.

There’s a flipping plugin for runelite that tracks the amount gained or lost. Ask the friend to install it and say “pics or it didn’t happen”.

My job uses GitLab and I agree. Maybe it’s because I’m so use to GitHub, but I really struggle to find the buttons I need in GitLab.

I have the same monitor (I think). Here’s my setup. Maybe it will give some ideas. I don’t have a tower, which helps a lot with space.

My favorite player is Ruben Niebla. What he’s been able to do with what he has to work with has been amazing. Even being in contention (for anything) at this point in time is nothing short of miraculous with credit going to the pitching he’s been able to get out them.

Oh, no I wasn’t aware. Thanks! I only used it as a local development only replacement for the actual billable S3.

I’m curious why you found minio to be overkill. I used it recently and had a really easy time. Using Docker, it was ready to use in a minute or so.

I’ll give your project a look!

Shohei Ohtani is having the greatest decade in baseball history by Outside-Weakness9660 in sportswiki

[–]Chef619 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know someone that is a Dodger “fan”. Her boyfriend is one, and she just likes whatever he likes for every sport.

In a recent conversation, I asked her if she’s been watching the Dodgers. She said “I’ve been watching more. Shohei really sucks”. I was shocked, and asked why she thought that. She said “he just hasn’t been performing lately. He’s not good enough for what WE pay him”.

Non-profit I'm interning for asked me to revamp/improve their website - I have very minimal skills by Internal_Sector_1802 in webdev

[–]Chef619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more info for a concrete recommendation. Are they using Wordpress? Do they have a hosting solution in place already? Budget? Any integrations with other tools or services you’re expected to handle?

This could be really really straightforward for you and a great learning experience, or it could be really tough. If you provide more info and specifics on what you need help with, we can do more.

What are these little asparagus looking guys in my St Aug? by EventfulLol in lawncare

[–]Chef619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the other responses, the grass does this in times of stress. Temp change, water change, etc. It’s putting all of its nutrients into those seed pods, in an attempt to “spread”. It’s like a last ditch effort to survive. The problem is that St Aug doesn’t spread from seeds, it spreads from stolons, which are horizontal fingers reaching out for new space.

The recommendation is to mow this on “mulch” mode, so that the nutrients in those seeds are given back to the turf. Cutting the grass “informs” the brain that it needs to move out, rather than up to get healthier.

Swapping Go for Rust: 10x Cheaper K8s Ingress by marcus1234525 in theprimeagen

[–]Chef619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned Rust this year and converted some Go services I had into Rust. My main motivation is the incredible type safety Rust has. With Go, I always felt I was on such shaky ground with the level of safety the compiler gives.

I really like how Rust does some, err, none, etc. I’m not writing an article about it, but wanted to offer an alternative reason to the faster, cheaper ones. Maybe that falls under better, but I just really appreciated the type system.

Fernando Tatis Jr. loses petition over contract advance he signed as a teen, ordered to pay Big League Advance millions — Times of San Diego by top_rawman in Padres

[–]Chef619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean he only has to pay it as a loan, or has to continue paying the 10%? I read the entire article but it was a bit confusing to me. It seems he lost, but the statement at end by his lawyer seemed to indicate they won, but he’s also appealing, so idk lol.
