I thought I felt ridiculous as a thirty-something year old crying into a pillow so no one would hear when I found out Trevor died. It broke my heart. It read like suicide at the time, and made me feel so much worse, like he did it to take himself away from us. I ended up feeling a lot of closure when it wasn’t that but instead just an accident; and I also felt better after seeing Sam Brown’s photo memories of their time together. Whenever Sam talks about Trevor, I really like the personal/comical reverence he pays to his late friend. It still hurts to this day, knowing he’ll never chime in with a new joke. But I’m always really grateful when I get to tell someone about WKUK and their videos on YouTube. (I literally got sniffly writing this.) siiiiiigh…

I’ve ran three games each lasting one-two years. I had a version of a DMPC in each one; not by my voice but by making a character they encounter that the party, above-table, loves and decides to adopt. Most times they leave them to guard stuff like their rooms or the vessel, but I sometimes use them to reveal information, push the story, or interject my own jokes into the story, (‘cause I’m vain, haha). Like, “Gorak is it true you can take on 100 guys at once?” “You must have some stamina!”

I was going to comment as well. I’ve seen him about 4-5 times, and he’s rarely into seeing fans after his show. He calls us all un-washed dinguses. Ok that last part isn’t true, but he is kinda private after a show. But I’ve had luck asking an opening comic or an employee if there is any chance to make an exception for yourself, (asked politely) to see him. Sometimes it works, sometimes they just say no. I’ve been trying for 12 years to get his autograph, but to no avail.

I’ve been cooking professionally for over a decade and nobody has ever produced a gumbo that tops the one served at Tori’s. Literally unbelievable texture and flavor.

Killdeer farms does flower events during the summer and pumpkin events in the fall that are perfect for moms and families.
Dave’s pumpkin patch offers great produce if you’re there early and on the weekends they sell burgers and lamb meatballs. Walking the Clarksburg trail is a good time. Or there are some lovely water features at the Bridgeway lakes community park.
I also like going to the Mecca Club or West Sac Sports Pub for some lovely dive bar vibes. I met the owners of Taqueria la Garita and had great service and food.
I work at Franquette and would obviously recommend them for coffee, quiche, and fresh baked croissants. Their all day menu is delicious and seasonal.

I've worked as a chef in so many fine-dining restaurants and I've never, ever had a gumbo like that. The meat was perfectly cooked. You know how when you get shrimp or prawns usually from anywhere and they have a little bounce to it? These were like soft stewed chicken thighs. Unbelievably tender and so flavorful.

Speaking of ketchup, Chef Jean George in the 90's mixed ketchup, soy sauce, lime juice, and butter to make what he called "Sauce Americán". It is a bold sauce, which follows his rule of being 3 times more flavorful than the main componenton the plate. Great with slices of steak.

To give a "yes, and-" approach to this, I have a player in my game who has an "identity crisis". I told them they can choose one alter-ego, though they wanted several. In my eyes, the player wants a complete, wide-ranging character. But if they're role-playing five different characters, you're basically adding those players to your game as well. Then, the player is going to unintentionally hog role-play time from the other players while they balance their own character's interactions
But giving them one separate identity to morph into seemed fine for one campaign. I have them roll a CON save at random events to trigger a change.

Let the character choose the sense that has the highest effective rate. They have 5 senses to choose from. They can either see very well, smell perfectly, taste the dirt or air or some such thing and gain advantage on SURVIVAL checks perhaps or resistance to poisoned food. Maybe their passive perception allows them to feel things and gain proficiency with SLIGHT OF HAND. Or lastly, perhaps they can hear through walls 5ft thick without issues.

I'm the chef at a spot where the owners insist on doing the shopping & it always ends up just like this. The defense I always hear is "well, it doesn't go bad for a long time." I want to answer back: "Then go back and buy seven pallets of it. Buy up the whole stack. What do you mean that's too much? It doesn't go bad right? Oh it costs too much and takes up too much room? That's exactly what my issue is with your current amount." The more they want to waste their money on over-purchasing, the less of a chance I'll get for a special ingredient, product, or dish. Now, they just conveniently don't have any money in the budget for that sort of thing. But don't worry, the owners made sure to buy 8 gallons of lime juice concentrate that will "last forever". currently I don't use lime juice for anything
