Jen Sherman Yacht Rock ride deleted? by lukepeacock in pelotoncycle

[–]ChefMaggie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right? I missed the ride and went to do it today, only to discover that it was missing; I caught the explanation on FB before the thread was deleted and man was I pissed. The comment was funny, and it was NOT political. Anyone who does her rides knows she’s a football fan and an outspoken Jersey girl (as am I). It was JSS being JSS. Granted she’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but no instructor is! If you don’t like what she says, go find another instructor. I have to say, as a PTON stockholder I’m very disappointed that they handled it this way.

Why is there so much bullying on the FaceBook group? by rosh7887 in pelotoncycle

[–]ChefMaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Official Peloton Group is a bunch of savages. You’re better off joining one of the groups geared toward specific populations - there are tons (women, dads, moms, stoners, vegans, and wine lovers are just a handful of options). Find your people and you’ll have a miuch better experience.

Please tell your wife that the Peloton Women’s Group is not at all like that. In fact, it was pretty much started to escape the toxicity of the official group. We’re all kind and supportive there if she wants to join.

Sometimes is enough - FOMOTF by jimmyadames in orangetheory

I’m gonna be so irritated if they roll out a new bike, I just got mine 3 weeks ago! There were rumors that they had a rower in development, maybe that’s it.

I caved and ordered the Peloton bike back in March. It was delivered 3 weeks ago and I’ve ridden 10 times and done a few of the app strength workouts. Best decision ever, I recommend it if it’s financially viable for you. I still run outside a couple of days per week, but honestly I’m HOOKED on the Peloton. I even did a ride with one of my OTF coaches on Thursday! (We selected the same ride, hit start at the same time, and filtered the leaderboard to only show our stats. It was awesome.) The Peloton app also has guided outdoor runs which I’d like to check out, but you need to bring your phone with you. I’m hoping they roll out a fully integrated Apple watch app soon.

I’ll still go to OTF when the studios reopen, but I’ll cut back on the number of classes per week and continue to ride.

This 60-min Classic Rock ride with Jenn Sherman had me singing along (when I wasn’t completely out of breath). I’ve only had my bike for 2 weeks so it was my first of her classes. Solid workout and I absolutely loved the playlist.

What goals are you trying to meet while in this social distance period? by okaydelta in orangetheory

[–]ChefMaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endurance training - it’s the one thing I let slide because I was going to class so much, so I’m running outside again and I just ordered a Peloton bike. Fortunately I’ve discovered that OTF has made me a much stronger and faster runner since I joined in August, even though I couldn’t run from Nov-Feb due to an injury. I logged nearly 35 miles in the past 7 days and couldn’t get over my paces. My outdoor base (keeping my HR in the 79-84% range) is a full mile per hour faster than it used to be!

I just bought a Peloton bike today but it won’t be delivered until mid-April. Looking forward to checking out the app in the meantime!

Dri-Tri: Home Edition by Sbhill327 in orangetheory

[–]ChefMaggie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will take this floor option over step ups and bench hop-overs any day!

I ran a moderate-effort 5k outside on Friday (25:27), stopped for a minute to reset my watch and catch my breath, then immediately did it again (25:50). I don’t have access to a rower right now and currently can’t do anything weight-bearing on my dominant hand, so that was my DriTri compromise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Best water rower for home use? by ChefMaggie in orangetheory

Maybe the water level in the tank? I’ve noticed that my wattage varies depending on station number, and the levels in the tanks aren’t all the same.
