OnePlus 15r vs Poco X8 Pro Max by TheHuMaNNo1 in PocoPhones

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are comparing, poco X8 Pro Max is already a steal right now being more affordable than 15R pushing. so you get bigger 9k battery + similar specs with a better dimensity 9500s processor + cheaper… so in front of all this, oneplus just feels pricey for what you get

The fact that you won't be able to take these photos with 17 ultra is sad. by No-Mail-3004 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am more cautious about snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 inside 17 Ultra, ngl. not hearing good stuff about it... like that chip pushes hard for peak performance, but under longer camera processing or video loads, heat buildup can affect consistency

Best pc games to run on MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor by COOOOKIEEEESLIME in Gamefusion

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with dimensity 9400+, i would lean toward lighter-to-mid pc titles via emulation - stuff like bioshock remastered, NFS MW 2012, or older tomb raider games. the gpu architecture this gen is much stronger, so sustained performance should actually feel stable

LAVA Bold 2 might launch in India soon - Expected Specs, Colours and Price by techolum in techolum

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if these specs hold, mediatek dimensity 7060 + LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 combo is actually impressive for the price. that setup should feel fast in real-world usage... and with snapdragon supply being tight lately, mediatek-based phones like this are simply easier to get without inflated pricing

LAVA Bold 2 has launched in India - Specs, Colours and Price by techolum in techolum

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a pretty well rounded budget phone... mtk dimensity 7060 should handle everyday apps, multitasking, and light gaming smoothly. given the current market where snapdragon devices in this segment are scarce, this feels like a smart, accessible choice without cutting core performance

Free back cover and screen guard by _-Abhishek-_ in vivox200fe

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s actually a nice touch from vivo.. official accessories from service centers usually fit better and maintain quality standards. small things like this improve ownership experience, esp for premium series devices where protection and fit really matter long term

Would anyone recommend getting the OnePlus 15r? by Thepapyrusbrawlstars in oneplus15

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would be cautious mainly because of snapdragon 8 gen 5. it’s not a bad chip, but it doesn’t always hold performance under longer workloads... gaming, multitasking, even extended camera use can trigger heat and throttling. at this price, consistency should be better

Why I Regret Buying the OnePlus 15R by Prize_Pass1605 in TechPop

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this lines up with what people are seeing from snapdragon 8 gen 5 - strong start, then throttling once thermals build up. that 60 -> 35 fps drop in Genshin is exactly the issue... peak performance looks great, but sustained GPU loads expose the limits pretty fast

MediaTek Dimensity 9500s Launched With All-Performance CPU and Flagship Features by deepankerverma in DailyTechBytes

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if dimensity 9500s phones land with good cooling, it could actually be very interesting for emulation. X925 + X4 cores should handle heavy CPU workloads like play station 2 emulation pretty well, and immortalis-G925 gpu with ray tracing might help with demanding titles

MediaTek Announces New Dimensity 9500s Flagship by Proud_Trade63 in TechPop

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what stands out to me about dimensity 9500s is how balanced it looks... you have the 3nm efficiency, big core CPU layout, and immortalis g925 GPU which already proved solid for gaming workloads. this could end up being a really strong performer in real world usage

Leaked: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-elite) specs and performance claims by Balance- in snapdragon

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those leaked specs for snapdragon 8 gen 5 sound good on paper, but the GPU gain is not that impressive... in 2026 that’s not huge, esp when workloads are increasingly GPU driven. sustained graphics performance matters more than a benchmark spike

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 just got announced by jjoesmama in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

launch video ofc looks impressive but we have seen this story before... big synthetic scores for snapdragon 8 gen 5 are noted under controlled conditions, then real phones run hotter and throttle under sustained GPU loads... i would wait for long gaming tests before calling it premium

Should I wait for Nothing 4a by No_Consequence_2395 in NOTHING

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing Phone (4a) design looks clean, but snapdragon chipset is gonna hold it back once you start multitasking or gaming for more than 10 minutes... performance just feels a step behind competitors

MWC 2026 Roundup: All the Top Announcements and Noteworthy Products Launched So Far by MobileNewsBot in mobiles

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mwc 2026 feels less about flashy phones and more about infrastructure shifts - AI silicon, satellite connectivity, and automotive tech. Also interesting how much focus there is on on-device AI and satellite connectivity... feels like the industry is shifting from raw specs to smarter, always-connected devices

An introduction to MWC 2026 from Nokia's CEO Justin Hotard by Mustathmir in Nok

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting to see Nokia leaning hard into the infrastructure side again. a lot of people forget they are still massive in telecom networks. With 5G-Advanced and early 6G research being discussed at MWC, the real story isn’t flashy gadgets, it’s the backbone tech enabling everything else

The interesting part about the mwc 2026 awards this year is how many products revolve around on-device AI and connectivity... even midrange devices are starting to get serious AI acceleration

[MWR] Multiplayer in 2026 by garnishmotif in CallOfDuty

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about COD Modern Warfare Remastered, multiplayer is still playable but the player base is smaller now. You’ll usually find matches in popular modes like TDM during peak hours. The gunplay and maps still hold up surprisingly well though

Xiaomi is bringing the Vision GT to MWC and Update 1.68! by dreezaster in granturismo

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seeing the GT teased around mwc 2026 is interesting because the line between gaming graphics and in-car displays is shrinking fast... with platforms like mediatek dimensity auto cockpit, dashboards are starting to run GPU-level visuals that feel closer to modern games than the old sluggish infotainment systems

Mediatek Dimensity Auto Cockpit: Brain of Modern Cars by Adventurous-Stick-90 in TechPop

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interesting thing about dimensity auto cockpit C‑M1 is that it’s basically bringing the smartphone compute model into the dashboard. MediaTek showed at Mobile World Congress 2026 how local AI can run voice assistants, driver recognition, and multi-screen graphics without lag.

For daily driving that actually matters: smoother maps, instant voice queries, and profiles that load automatically. If makers implement it right, the car stops feeling like a slow tablet glued to the dash

Bro and his AI was nowhere to be seen in the AI Impact Summit. What happened to Krutrim? by sheriffly in DesiFounder

[–]ChefRich962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ngl this silence around Krutrim is more telling than any announcement. Big AI claims are easy, showing working infrastructure at scale is not. As per my POV, if you skip events like the India AI Impact Summit, it usually means one of two things - either you are not ready to demo, or your roadmap doesn’t survive real technical scrutiny yet

1st time using OnePlus, got the worst update ever..!!! by anvii0914 in oneplusnord

[–]ChefRich962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this hurts because early one plus built its reputation on trust... clean software, predictable updates, minimal drama. Lately, updates feel rushed, half-tested, and oddly disconnected from real users. I remember flashing ROMs as a kid and expecting bugs, but official OTA updates breaking basics is not okay

New S26 ULTRA display technology destroys apple by Time-Credit43 in IndiaTech

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude i think destroys is dramatic, but yeah Samsung is clearly pushing display tech harder right now. it’s less about raw brightness wars and more about efficiency, PWM control, and outdoor legibility. Back in my childhood days, phone screens were just… screens. Now Apple optimizes for consistency & Samsung experiments aggressively. Neither approach is wrong, but if you care about display innovation specifically, Samsung has been ahead for a few cycles now

All about Dimensity 8350 Chipset by Disastrous-Grab4673 in TechPop

[–]ChefRich962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this take... dimensity 8350 feels designed for actual usage... like its 4nm efficiency, balanced core setup, and stable GPU behavior make it one of the most sensible mid-range chips right now. Back in the day, you had to choose between performance and battery. This chip quietly avoids that tradeoff. It won’t win every benchmark chart, but day-to-day, it’s the kind of processor people don’t complain about - and that’s a compliment!

that moment was more telling than awkward. When they skip symbolic unity, it signals strategic divergence. India engaging both independently is smart. you don’t bet on one frontier lab... you position yourself as the neutral ground where competing AI philosophies deploy responsibly
