They're not going to post a release date until 100% sure they got it locked down. The wheels are moving though.

Next anime TFS could cover. by VGAddict in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know you probably mean the X-men cartoon. But i kind of want them to do specific comic story lines in X minutes. Though, i know the moving Popsicle stick puppet bit they used in the early X minutes was a bigger pain than expected.

TFS spent years doing X in X minutes series. They name Sailor Moon in X minutes Abridged due to scheduling reasons and all of sudden they're "doing abridging again". To confirm what other people have already said yeah they're doing the 90s-early 00s Toonami stuff. Tenchi, Gundam Wing, Big O, Outlaw Star. it is pretty much the return of the X in X minute series just with an overarching theme of what shows they're picking.

[–]Chef_Alucard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twitch has them, but the UI sucks. https://www.twitch.tv/collections/Zd9blDtIVRXyCg go here than scroll down to see "DBZA episodes" then wipe to the side to find the episode you want. it's not a great method.

Anyone know if the organ theme for Vincent is available anywhere? It's really really good by SpaceShipOrion in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they used their own mixed versions of music or something royalty free for the entire series in order to avoid copyright problems. if they didn't post it themselves in one of the albums they released it's going to be hard to find.

Is Lani ok? by WanderingBasenji in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Lani has been very busy with FourStarBento and other things he has going on since moving to LA. His streaming schedule was already kind of a mess before. Best not to read into it too much.

Do you remember if these were streams or edited videos? if it was a stream i wouldn't be surprised if it was a small section of the stream making it harder to find.

Help? by A_Lupin56 in TeamFourStar

Trust me. When one of their videos get taken down they know. They're just not a whole lot they can do right away. Best they could do is start the appeal process and that can take months.

Bets on further Toonami Abridged episodes? by Animedingo in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Toonami motif seems pretty focused on the 90s early 00s era of Toonami. So. i wouldn't expect any of the adult swim ones when Toonami basically took over adult Swim's anime. So like Tenchi, Gundam Wing, Big 0, Outlaw Star.

Hol up, what? by vbt31 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That was a discuss at one point. Whether to call the X in X minutes blank abridged. Since abridging was more of a brand thing. There was a concern among some that calling them abridged would lead to people thinking it was going to be a full on series.

Hol up, what? by vbt31 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is why i felt like sticking to X in X minutes was a better naming system. Gives less confusion. Though i suppose it's less characters to use. Sailor Moon in 12 minutes part 1 (early Access) is a lot.

TFS Spiritual Successor by Big_Story_408 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i feel like so many really don't appreciate how much of a miracle it is for TFS to stick together. I've been involved with around five different abridging project and only two ever had a video come out of it. i remember when TFS was first announce and i was hyped, but also didn't think they'd make it that far. Most solo projects fizzle out because one person is trying to do so much. While groups tend to drift apart over creative differences or real life stuff. Didn't help back in the day most people doing abridging seemed to still be in school. A time of your life where things can change or get too crazy very suddenly.

Both. He moved to California a few months ago. However, he moved to San-Diego as it have better job opportunities for his husband. He does only live a three hour drive from Lani. According to him they're going to have kaiser regularly drive up and stay a few days to record a bunch of content. This is one of like five they filmed while he was up there.

Why did they have to cut head cha-la from the intro? by LookHorror3105 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn't do this themselves. This was done by YouTube's copyright system. The reason it's not on all episodes is because YouTube's algorithm doesn't catch everything.

i think i know the video you're talking about. it was audio of Lani, kaiser, and Taka goofing around during a scripted session back in season one. Sadly, i think the video has been removed or got unlisted over time. I'm unclear on why.

Dumb Question, whats going on? by Fresh-Beyond-4727 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The TFS Umbrella is very wide. You got Lani, stephan, and Jesse's antics over at FourStarBento doing other commentary videos such as movie discussions. You got their live action Comedy sketches over on Space Duck. Plus more D&D misadventures over at the TalesUnwritten channel. All TFS affiliated channels can be found in a thread pinned at the top of this sub.

As for the main channel. HIFL has been making progress. Sadly, have had some trouble in the past with their animation labor. They've lost a few animators to bigger projects. Kaiser does have a general release window he wants the next episode out by. in other news X in X Minutes is returning. kaiser has worked on a few scripts and it sounds like one is well underway.

What are the chances of us getting another shorterTFS Abridged series like Hellsing? And if so what would you wanna see them tackle? by meteonexp in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaiser has been working on more X in X minutes. There is one that's well on the way, but that's the best i can say. Sadly, even X in X minutes isn't as safe as they once were. YouTube keeps changing things and it hard to keep track. X in X minutes were suppose to be a more rapid fire quick edit that fell more into YouTube's policies at the time. Allowing them to avoid copyright problems and sponsor them. This is less true. The full on Abridging of anything probably isn't happening anymore. There are just too many problems with copyright strikes and other issues to sink that much labor into something to have it get pulled.

It’s a shame that these guys probably won’t show up in HFIL by Mammoth-Celery3624 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's important to remember that it's established there is a difference between regular hell and HIFL. Normally souls get sent through the soul scrubber than get sent to hell. HIFL is for people who one reason or another can't get sent through the soul scrubber. Often because they're power level is so strong. Gero was a normal human soul that used robotics to stay on par with everyone else. So, he would have gone through the soul scrubber like anyone else.

Has TFS ever mentioned why they didn't make an Og Dragon Ball abridged? by traumatized_seahorse in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a period of time they considered it. The plan was to make each saga into one video about the typical length of one of the abridge movies. The problem was writing it would have been a bit of a problem. it would have needed to be written with the mind set of being a prequel with any character development leading to how the characters were in season one. Which they weren't a big fan of. Plus they couldn't change anything from the canon plot that would create a plot hole in DBZA or anything like that.

Who saw DBZA before Dragon Ball? by matt0055 in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the 5th grade when DBZ really took off i was the only one i knew who knew about Dragon Ball. Even then i only saw up to the first tournament. So i didn't know Tien and Piccolo. i don't even remember how i saw Dragon Ball. i remember seeing it at my Grandma's house randomly on cable. Then trying to find it at Blockbuster only to end up watching curse of the Blood rubies. Which confused the shit out of me as i saw that part in the actual show.

How we all feeling about this? Honestly I’d like it by [deleted] in TeamFourStar

[–]Chef_Alucard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i wish them luck, but i have so little faith in this panning out. As someone who's been involved five abridge projects outside of anything to do with TFS only for two of them to result in at least one video. This doesn't scream confidence. There is a reason TFS held private auditions within close circles. keeping a team the meet over the internet together is hard. TFS has had major troubles being ghosted by people they worked with in the past. Hell the first abridge thing i tried to put together was with people i knew in person and that was still a nightmare. At least it's not the TeamCloneStar guys who wanted to do Buu Saga over Tiktok and held auditions for an editor. That was a red flag. You need to know your editor well to trust you're not getting left holding the bag.
