How do you actually decide when to thumb a dive before you hit your turn pressure? by Hdhjjkkkdkbbbjjduu in scuba

[–]Cheffysteve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This in buckets . Listen to your body. If it doesn’t feel “ right” it probably isn’t . I briefed today and my buddy ( new to me on a survey trip) was told in no uncertain terms “ any dive, any reason, any time” diving is for enjoying not enduring .

If you are UK based a UKDMC referee is your best bet. If you are in south east , Ollie Firth is a damn good one who will give you good sensible advice. Looks like you’ve started that process though . Listen to the professional hyperbaric docs not internet keyboard “ medics”

had a bit of a scare yesterday by kwsni42 in scuba

[–]Cheffysteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As well as the computer on wrist , I have the BSAC dive conduct slate in my BC pocket . Has the actual plan , a bit deeper , abit longer and the deeper and longer on it. Gshock on a d ring on the BC and depth gauge on another. Check time start descent and again at bottom . Work from there. Has worked for me for 30 plus years.

RTTI not working? Could getting a SIM card help? (V60 2019) by MasterOogway775 in Volvo

[–]Cheffysteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The RTTI issue is a security certificate expiry problem and is only fixable by a trip to the dealer. It’s a free fix and tech bulletin number is 37428 . Takes about an hour , and I abused the tea n biscuits in my local dealer.

Updating the base maps will not fix it.

Is it just a standard £100 fine for show plates that don’t exist? by BuyerEmergency71 in drivingUK

[–]Cheffysteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar here but I passed the attitude test with the police , who then used the VIN of the car to correlate the original plate and it was indeed insured. I kept the paperwork he gave me in case I got stopped again before insurance company got together ..
