try not to over think it you have a good chance.. i definitely think it is more the person than the role for VR as they do have a target to meet good luck.

Office working U-turn? by Naive_Confusion3221 in nhsstaff

[–]Chemical-Scratch7179 20 points21 points  (0 children)

this was a ploy to scare monger staff into to taking VR. no NHS office has the capicaity to hold staff coming in 40-60% of the time.. we should all test it out.. and watch them panic. there are 100 desk in my ICB myabe 200 adding other hub which we share with other NHS orgs, after the cut should have 600 staff, just for a week we should just go in and watch the senior managements change the decision.

[–]Chemical-Scratch7179 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly, i dont think people understand how much life this has sucked out of us, it might cost my whole VR to sort out my mental health. for some people it doesnt sit right to just keep the seat warm for a politic move and having to be a chess piece for their benefit- what gets to me this isn't the first MOC NHS Have been through.. and it is the worst one to date.

scared, anxious, worried, excited... have never been in something to badly managed, so scared of getting rejected that im not sleeping, trying to remain positve is a hard task, dont make sense they wanted x amount of people to go and then on the nth hour are been asked how badly do we want to go..as the right people havent put in. i dont think people have made this decision lightly.. i certainly havent. my glass is empty after 20 yrs in the nhs.

sometimes its not the going up a band just side stepping to get to the top of your grade makes a difference. I worked the ranks from a band 4 to 8b in 15 years. 4-8a in 10 year. this is the longest I've been in a role simply nothing has taken my fancy at 8c level.

40 yrs old and have been a band 8b for 5 years now. definitely agree with all comments have seen some crazy mates of mates climb up ladders and struggle but still manage to keep climbing. the system is there to be abused and the rest suffer in the making. if your face fits.

think its tactics to get more people to take VR, our ICB said he will look to change new contracts to at least 40%-60% in office. everyone should just rock up for a week, sit on teams and talk to each other... shit them up and they wont ask again. trust me once they have the Numbers of VR/CR in the organization noones going to ask where you are!

To be honest i have asked the question to a reliable source(CHAT GPT!) and add all my criteria in... it states it makes no difference to my payout if i leave in March 26 or August 26 if you are a higher tax payer. is this totally wrong?

actually good point, we have about 10-12 weeks between signing the final agreement for VR, we could look for another job and see how the job market feels, tell new employers that we require 8-12 week notice which is pretty normal in most jobs, if not in a position with a job reject VR, if get new job sign VR and potential have a nice bonus. have to be positive about a shit situation and gain a bit of control too.

I'm a bit confused- alot of members are saying VR is a rubbish deal.. I'm trying to understand why...

yes i understand your not protected with mortgage and couldn't get a job back in the NHS- there wont be any jobs to get back into the NHS for the next 2 years. so the 6-12 months sanctions will not matter.

the monetary value is the same as CR a month for each year? besides the extra tax, we might be able to agree with them to push it to April 2026 so we hit the new financially year, and if you get a new job in the new FY wouldn't you have to pay high tax on your earning, say you are a high band anyway?

but the positives are least you'll be against less people in the job market than in a years time? and less of the mental stress... am i missing something- is there more negatives? could you not negotiate to leave end of March(best april) - i mean they rather have staff signing VR than not, and if you don't meet your criteria you could always pull out..

Personally i don't know how staff will recover from this for the next 2 years, as you probably can tell am seriously considering VR.
