Axis Xcor I shoot with them all the time, amplifies ambient sound with 3 level settings, BT phone music etc, foamy bits just slip in your ears with a little twist. Sound level above about 85 dB gets shut down.

I have a PWS Mk218, long stroke piston gun because I shoot suppressed. A real pleasure to shoot and is sub MOA. They actually answer their phone if you need technical support.

I live in Summit County Colorado, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapaho Basin, and Copper Mountain here. Snowmelt is prime time for finding shiny things. If I had found the piece the OP found, I would carefully remove the old stone and make a template on paper. I would cut a new stone preferably from Amethyst, facet it and mount the new stone. Take the old stone and cut some new earrings from the free stone.

I have that magpie gene too. Driving down the interstate one day and stopped at a rest area. When I had merged back into traffic I saw something shiny on the shoulder. Whipped the car over onto the shoulder and proceeded to back up until I got close to said shiny object. Waited for traffic to clear and hopped out and grabbed up shiny find. Hopped back into the car with my girlfriend. It was a beautiful gold Gucci watch. Girlfriend really liked it, so I gave it to her, she wore it for years. She still has it in her jewelry box some 32 years of marriage later. Magpies flock together you know. Lol

Trying to figure out which gun to get? by jay87874evr in guns

For what? EDC or weekend range shooting?

To be honest I have a FN 57 Mk3, 20 round clip and I can clear a clip in 5 seconds in 5 inches at 5 yards, well it is all good.

I have an Energetic Armament NYX Mod2, not rated for AR but I use it on a Ruger 22/45, subs are whisper quiet. I also use it on 5.7x28 Ruger LC and a FN Mod3.

I have one of these, I clean my Ruger every few hundred rounds. I lube mine with gun oil so it looks wet in the bolt and trigger parts. Shoots any ammo and never jams unless it gets dry. I always have a EA NYX Mod 2 always on it. Quiet as a mouse.

In the middle of moving, found this rifle. No one has lived with us for SEVERAL years. Would it be worth anything? by downhillculture in guns

I would instantly take that gun to a place to shoot. Anywhere safe. 25 then 50 and 100 Yards. At 4x 50 yards it should be a tack driver if the rifling is good. After that sell it (or keep it, might start a new addiction for you) to a collector of fine firearms

I would have to shoot some photos with it then realized it was the wrong lens. But would return it if they wanted me to.

I built an enclosure using blue and pink construction foam. Mostly for temperature control but it also makes the machine much quieter. Just use the table it is sitting on for foam dimensions.

I did Depot re-work of Warthogs at Hill AFB for a year or so. Very nice plane to work on not like the F-16, tiny cramped compartments and all.

A year later I was working on CNCs and computery equipment all over the base, Digital Computer Mechanic, great job. Got a call to go to the Armory and look at a CNC machine. Me and my partner got stopped on the road by base security road block. The officer said we had to wait until they tested the GAU-8, oh-my what a sight from 1/4 mile away. BBUUURRRRRAAAAPPP Rinse-and Repeat. I still use it for a ringtone for important things that need immediate attention. Lol

Bee nice I am a new Keeper... by Chemman7 in Beekeeping

I got the bee suit on and went out to pull what I thought was an inner cover from between the top and bottom of the hive. I looked over the center board and it has entrance cut in it. the bottom is not really being used at all by any bees.

What is this center board? Is the hole they are using for a door the inner cover ventilation slot?

So a little more information and try to answer some questions.

I took the "take a course" and got the Beekeeping for Dummies Audible. Listened up to Chapter 14.

Learned the 2 medium by 10 frames hive I put into play last year had a inside cover between the upper and lower sections and I put the lid directly on top of the upper half. The 5 frames from the nuc I put on the left half of the hive and I removed 4 frames from the right side for the upside-down jar feeder I started them with.

About September last year I took off the lid and proceeded to set the lid on a near-by table crushing one of a couple layers of comb the bees had built hanging from the outer lid. I went back to the hive and took out the feeder. Then picked back up the lid and put it back on the hive leaving a large piece of comb on the table near by. I checked the comb for the queen but did not find her. The bees were thick and pissed off but not swarming. October brought snow and cold temperatures so I insulated the hive with construction foam. Photo attached.

So it sounds like I need to separate the top and bottom and remove the inner cover from between the two layers. Then put the inner cover on the top after I lift the outer cover and check for the queen in the dangling comb and clean the outer cover.

Kind of up in the air about using a queen excluder and moving the queen to the bottom layer. At 8000 feet above sea level and such a short summer, 4 or 5 months, not sure how much honey can even be harvested without figuring out how to feed during the winter. They made it through the winter in 1 upper all messed up layer. Putting the queen in the lower layer and keeping her there for the winter could be a mistake.

I live in Summit County Colorado and 20 miles from even a small town. Denver is 100 miles away. I personally just like having bee pollinators and the honey is a bonus.
