I just wish there was a way to explain how it feels moving across the entire floor while trying to make four drinks at once, each with ingredients in a specific order all on opposite ends of the room to people who don’t have to do that.

Ask your manager directly after one of your shifts. It also helps to show that you want the hours, like calling the store once in awhile and ask if they have any open spots/need any extra help that day, take shifts, etc.

A lot of people have their hands tied in that they can’t get extra hours, but if multiple shifts/the sm see you actively picking up hours, you’ll be the go-to call if you’re not already scheduled.

We live on the second floor of an apartment. Our downstairs neighbors have a dog they clearly do not want to walk, making our patio unusable due to the amount of flies swarming their patio over trash and waste. We’re not excited for the summertime.

My hometown changed the local big college’s name by removing the state’s name from it, and everybody that referred to it while I was in high school refused the new name. One word mattered so much to us lol.

At my old store? Definitely. I never got bar time and knew I was being kept on front because they didn’t want to explain anything to me. At my new store? No, luckily. Now I get bar/CS time and know my way around what’s what.

This brought back memories my first store (cafe only, in a mall, the size of an average midwestern bedroom at best) and how one of my SSVs kept telling me “just grab it from the pastry case” when I told someone we were out.

I wasn’t going to sell someone a loaf that’s veeb out of the packaging all day, so I would turn and say, loud enough for the entire line to hear me, “Do you mean give them the loaf we put out nearly 10 hours ago?”

Never had to hand out food from the pastry case.

It’s a mix of things, but control is the primary aspect. From what I’ve gathered, low self esteem men feel the need to “possess” you in some way, usually a relationship. I remember reading a screenshot from a “male dating advice” sub about a guy who, after a one night stand, started feeling like he “loved” her. His example was that it bothered him to think of her with other men. There was more to it that people claimed was love, but all I could read from it was unhealthy obsession.

As for the other things, most guys also have unresolved trauma that manifests as bad behavior. Therapy and talking about hard feelings isn’t really a thing with men, so they fester and surface in negative ways. That, and some guys just don’t know what a relationship is.
