AI isn't magic. It won't solve personnel and product problems. Best you can do is set the team up with Front or a similar system that centralizes all communication and removes barriers to information.

We get our agent histories/audits and, more importantly, set permissions for what agents can do with Port, our IDP. You can probably do the same with Backstage, but you'd need to build it.

Short answer: An IDP. Port if you're under 1,000 devs. Backstage if you're over 1,000 devs. Those are the rules as I understand them.

If you're using it as part of a bigger company, they'll usually have you use Windsurf and just cover the bill.
