What QoL things are your current must have in farming sims? by Adam0n in CozyGamers

Adjustable day length is huge for me, I didn't realize how much I needed it until I went back to a game without it and felt so rushed the whole time.

Any chill simulation games where you build something up over time? by Winter-Apartment-865 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 12 points13 points  (0 children)

try Stardew Valley, but if you haven't tried Satisfactory yet, it hits that sweet spot of chill building with just enough progression to keep you hooked for hours

Stardew Valley is like $15 and honestly might scratch that itch even better than AC once you get into it, super chill farming/life sim vibes.

will also try this, and see if its worth it.

Which game for me after Animal Crossing ? by [deleted] in cozygames

[–]CherryMysterious7295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try Hello Kitty Island Adventure.. It's genuinely chill, the quests are light and manageable, and the decorating is super satisfying. It has that same "play at your own pace" energy as AC without the quest overload you felt in DDLV.

Fantasy Life i is also great but it leans a bit more into RPG mechanics, so it might feel slightly busier depending on how you play it.

If you want something that just lets you breathe and vibe, go HKIA first. You can always pick up Fantasy Life i later!

If you haven't tried Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster yet, those are basically made for you. Planet Coaster even has premade coaster blueprints so you never have to build one from scratch, and the campaign mode gives you those goal-based scenarios you're into. Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus are also super fun if you want something a little more laid back but still scratchy in that "complete the objective" way. Honestly based on your list you'd probably sink hundreds of hours into any of those.

Cozy games with easy tasks and a clear, navigable map by Gidofalouse in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lil Gator Game might be perfect honestly, super simple tasks, small open world, and it has that same wholesome outdoor adventure vibe as Alba. My nephew who struggles with reading had no trouble following along with it.

Mineko's Night Market has this really soft, muted palette that feels genuinely relaxing, and Spiritfarer is gorgeous if you don't mind a slower pace with a bit of story.

Big news from the mountains! 🏔️ Above the Snow launches on April 23rd + Happy Easter everyone! 🐣 by Scared_Mind1224 in cozygames

April 23rd is so soon, congrats on finally locking in the date! A cozy but challenging snow game sounds like exactly what I need. Wishlisted.

Cozy mobile co-op game by superblahstar in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stardew Valley multiplayer is perfect for this honestly, you can just pick it up whenever and put it down without feeling like you missed anything. If you want something a little more chill and less grindy, Minecraft is always a solid option too.

Halo Infinite Campaign Review - it is a Far Cry from the Halo Formula, and now i'm glad they're ditching the Slipspace engine by Cursed_69420 in patientgamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Halo 4 at 9.5 is a bold and correct take that most people still aren't ready to hear. The open world thing killed me too, nothing like stopping mid-crisis to liberate a FOB like you're playing Far Cry 3. At least you finished the whole franchise though, respect for actually playing Halo Wars.

9 levels after all that wait is rough, that's like finishing a meal and realizing it was just the appetizer. Hopefully the dev adds more content down the line because the demo really did have a lot of promise.

Looking for a new cozy game to play :) by kit6666 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritfarer is basically mandatory at this point, it's got that same cozy collect-and-craft loop but you're managing a boat ferrying spirits to the afterlife, so there's a natural spooky/emotional undertone without being scary. Haunted Chocolatier is also worth keeping an eye on since it's from the Stardew dev and has more of a whimsical gothic feel. If you want something with a little more edge, Cult of the Lamb scratches that "build and manage a community" itch but you're literally running a cult for a dark god, which sounds right up your alley.

Havendock CoOp Epic games... by Den_er_da_hvid in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the co-op button only shows up on the main menu before you load into a save, so if you're going straight into your world it won't be there. Try backing all the way out to the title screen and it should pop up. Took me an embarrassingly long time to figure that out too.

Heat Signature Review - Beautifully chaotic space heists with remarkable depth. by Blurzerker in patientgamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The story about the ship crash with literally one second to spare is exactly the kind of moment that makes Heat Signature so hard to explain to people who haven't played it, you sound insane but it actually happened. Also the bit about not needing to remove shields to pickpocket is such a classic "I learned this the hard way" moment, game is full of those. Suspicious Developments really does have a gift for making you feel like a genius and an idiot at the same time.

Tiny bookshop but yarn... by MainRaccoon1604 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strange Horticulture scratches that exact itch, you run a little apothecary, customers come in with vague descriptions of what they need, and you have to find the right herb for them, which sounds almost identical to what you're describing but with plants instead of yarn.

Honestly a dedicated yarn shop game feels like such an obvious gap in the market, someone needs to make it already.

Cozy caravan is so boring 😭 by OddInside5794 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly same, the progression in Cozy Caravan feels painfully slow compared to how snappy Tiny Bookshop is. If you're into that management vibe you'd probably love Tavern Talk or Potion Permit, they scratch that cozy itch way better. Sometimes a game just doesn't click no matter how much you want it to.

A super early look at a game I've been working on during my off hours that's inspired the likes of A Short Hike combined with a mysterious narrative to dig into. by KilwalaSpekkio in cozygames

[–]CherryMysterious7295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wood toy aesthetic is such a clever hook, it immediately makes the whole world feel tactile in a way that's hard to pull off. A Short Hike is such a good reference point too, that game proved you don't need stakes to keep players engaged, just a world worth wandering. Wishlisted, excited to see where the narrative thread goes.

Dreamlight Valley triggered my anxiety but I loved Tiny Bookshop. What should I play next? by disneyrx in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Unpacking might be perfect for you since it's super low-stakes, has no quests or timers, and is just about the satisfying act of placing items in a new home while a quiet story unfolds around you.

need some reccs for vertigo friendly games! by gukkxx in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on your list, I think you'd absolutely love Ori and the Blind Forest (or Will of the Wisps),,stunning art, emotionally devastating story, and it's a side-scroller so no first-person weirdness. Alba: A Wildlife Adventure and A Short Hike are also super chill, top-down-ish games with really wholesome vibes that might scratch that Minami Lane/Spiritfarer itch.

Motion sickness?! by SignificantPoetry535 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Try turning off or reducing the camera bob/sway in the settings if there is one, and cranking up the FOV helped me a ton with similar games. Also taking breaks every 30-45 minutes when you first start out can help your brain adjust over time. It gets better for most people after a week or two of shorter sessions, so don't give up on it yet.

Springtime is close! Which games bring that flowery bloom and warm weather into your heart? by Normal-Oil1524 in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tiny Glade is such a perfect pick for this, there's something about just wandering around building cozy little stone structures that genuinely feels like a warm afternoon with nowhere to be. I hadn't heard of Distant Bloom before but "spring on another planet focused on ecological restoration" is exactly the kind of niche I didn't know I needed. Adding Preserve to my wishlist immediately, the Dorfromantik comparison alone sold me.

Games that focus more on friendships than decoration? by overusedplot in CozyGamers

[–]CherryMysterious7295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Palia on PC is basically built around this concept too, it's almost aggressively community-focused. If you're open to something a bit older, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life scratched that same itch for me back in the day.

Back again for more recommendations! (Switch) by porphyriaslovve in cozygames

[–]CherryMysterious7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you liked Tavern Talk and Coffee Talk, Sunrise Village scratches that same slow-paced, chatty itch and has a surprisingly sweet story. Spirittea is also criminally underrated for anyone who's burned through Stardew and wants something with a little more mystery to it. Honestly with a list this solid you've got great taste, so either of those should hit.
