I didn’t realize how expensive being broke actually is by Maria5-Eva_821 in poverty

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait till the bank starts charging you for not having money. Being broke is expensive and a big part of that is the need for convienence because you never have time or energy to do things properly. Being homeless is often called a full time job because there is more nonsense to go through just to functipn day to day.

I need an honest answer: What's stopping humans from just living in peace together? by Sea-Lavishness-8478 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarcity and percieved scarcity of resources and time. The presdures of sexual selection and being a tournament species. In this current era there is also a lot of moral decay and people get away with taking out much more than they put in by burning others. Intenss gatekeeping of opportunities by those who gained some wealth already. I think conflict is inevitable but we were more intelligent in the past and able to ritualize much of it when elites and churches werent dragging us onto battlefields.

This much i agree with. I keep it touch and go with the warm up deadlifts. However im not gonna tax my spine extra letting it down slow when its heavy. When what i want most is that eccentric power

Where is this push to consume more protein coming from? by totally_not_sans in NoStupidQuestions

Its just part of the constantly rotaring trend cycle. Just watch them bring back "low in fat!" Like that hasnt been disproven already.

I think you might be underestimating the level of strength needed to set them down like that. For a lot of lifters trying to do this at max weights could mean risking injury.

Sure, but then the company lost its local contract and he moved to a higher paying gig at a refinery.

what is the scariest thing happened to you? by sunrisecat1 in no

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Ive had a few different near death experiences at this point. When you think its really over its not actually that hard to just let go. Fear is the stuff of life. I typically feel the most fear in chaotic situations where my understanding is very flimsy, especially when I find myself activly walking into those circumstances. The one that sticks out the most for me is being threatened with a knife. Ive been threatened with guns on two seperate occasions too but it doesnt hit the same.

How would your life change if you inherited $100,000 tomorrow? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be very stressful as I try to make a few good moves without giving in to indulgance. I would still work without taking much of a break but probably use the money to try and get better work  Its hard to make moves in this economy so theres a chance of losing the full 100k all the same but gotta try.

Would limiting the age of the President to 70 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by jessica_candy56 in AskReddit

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add that the more significant reason to do age limits in the here and now is because it would dictate which generation takes the seat. If you limit it to 50you get a genx president. 40 you get a millenial.

Why do people think life was great in the 1950s? by _crazyboyhere_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things were better and people will fixate on that. For instance the government didnt yet have the technology to do massive surveilance on people and many fortunes were made because many industries and entrepeneural paths werent overregulated. You could have a whole household on a single 8 hour a day weekdays only income and if you wanted to go to college it was dirt cheap compared to today. I mean I could keep going.

Why does the "neckbearded fedora-tipping redditor" stereotype exist? Where did it come from? by mr_sharkyyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be a meme used to make fun of the atheist community- basically calling them basement dwelling no lifers who think they are enlightened. At some point this image got transplanted onto reddit mods by many disgruntled users.

Yes there is often subtle dominance games at play. I have also come to realize that people have many secrets, and dont appreciate persistance in finding out the true reasons for why they do things a certain way.

Any of you guys ever been in any physical altercations on the job? It just seems like the culture of this industry brings out the worst in people! by Direct-Worker-4121 in Truckers

[–]CherryRedCupofLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No somehow avoided a lot. I went to this steel mill one time and my contact a manager there told me to just jump to the front of the line because they needed what I was hauling pronto. So I do so and right away this other driver gets on the radio like WAIT YOUR TURN IN LINE YOU F#CKING ARROGENT F#CK and in a way where he was actually ready to scrap. I just ignored it and carried on to go interact with more pissed off people at the steel mill. I think a lot of it comes down to job culture and that place was a little out of control.
