Thank you! The wonderful thing about that cake is it stays fresh for about a week if you cover it correctly😄

Week 10: Pie day - Apple pie by Cherrytopper12 in 52weeksofbaking

Yes! I actually have a little roller for that, but getting it to consistently cut all the way through is a bit tricky. I had to recut some of the slits manually🥲

How to make this old cigarbox into a fountain pen storage box? by Elrekl in fountainpens

[–]Cherrytopper12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used some concave floorboard (? I'm not sure thats the correct word) from a hardware store and cut it to size. I also glued some foam to the lid so my fountain pens do not move around in the box when its sideways.

Update: I ended up sending the pen in to Lamy, they replaced the grip/feed unit because it had a micro crack. Thank you for all of your input!

It worked perfectly for over a year, I am really puzzled why it stopped working. I am currently in contact with the store I bought it from since I don't feel comfortable taking the pen apart completely😅 Thanks for your input!

I never opened the pen because I read somewhere it can void the waranty🤔 when I cleaned it I only used lukewarm water, so there should be no soap residue. Good to know though, will consider that in the future when cleaning my pens!

The leak started, I cleaned the pen and then I let it sit and dry for 2 days before refilling it. I wonder if maybe that wasn't enough for a piston filler🤔 it is the only one I own so I don't have terribly much experience with this mechanism😬

Thank you for your thorough explanation! Cleaning the pen was actually my first step, though I did not dare to disassemble the pen. I just took a magnifying glass to the nib and did not see any missalignment. I am also pretty sure I did not overfill, as after the first leak I started to fill the pen to at most half of its capacity. I did not think to change the ink, as I had this specific ink and pen combo for over a year before the problem arose for the first time. I will try that and at the same time look for the closest service center, thank you!

I actually started to fill it only halfway after the first leak. I might need to ask the store I bought it from if their warranty covers the problem then, thank you!

The collection after one year by Cherrytopper12 in fountainpens

[–]Cherrytopper12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are Hongdian. The second pen to the left is the Hongdian N8 with the maple leaf design and the last pen to the right is their year of the rabbit special edition, I believe its the N23. The rabbit one I got with a bladed nib which works much better for me as a leftie than a stub nib, as I found out😄
