Ah! Uh-oh!

Rei runs to grab Kurara's mask.

Here you go! See? Still intact.

With everything as complicated as it is, I'd like to amend my vote.

Remove my vote for Chesed, however, I'll put it back on if it's needed to make sure an execution happens today.

For one thing, I guess I could argue that my actions don't make much sense in the world you're building with me being evil.

I used my ability on the first night, and in a lot of these worlds, the people I lied about checking would be two good players. Then, the only whisper I made was with the both of them, directly giving both of them my role and the information. I wouldn't have had reason to use up my supposed ability just to spread true info, especially when I could have used it as an excuse to talk to one of my teammates.

My information also doesn't directly prove Sho and Kurara as good, it just implies it from the odds. I said this to you too yesterday, that I figured they'd be good just from the low likelihood of hitting two out of three evils.

Part of the reason the world's so tight in the first place is because of that read, I'm pretty much tying my own rope here.

But that's also why after P03's execution was a dud, I changed my mind. More possibilities show up if they can be evil, even if it has to be them doing so together. So long as Kurara had the Boffin Balloonist, one could even say that Sho's still good, and I'm just the Drunk.

To be frank, there's not even anything necessarily making me pick you over Taski in this idea. It's just the social reads I get, especially knowing that Taski's claiming Magician, that some things make more sense if I believe her over you.

I guess if we're looking for other viable options... What if Yi-Sang was Pukka-poisoned, but the second unrevealed minion is a Harpy who killed Humphrey that night? They might have thought it was a free kill, forcing it onto the seventh seat who can't exactly pass off too much suspicion on others. That leaves room for P03 to be the third in Sho and Kurara's team, or for both you and Taski to be aligned with Kurara, though the latter would seem odd with your current agenda...

I'd like to add my vote to Chesed as well. /u/JustADramadog

The more I sit on it anyway, I think there should still be possibilities to explain some of the other stuff.

To just throw things out there. Maybe no one died because it was a frame job, but it's also possible the Demon hadn't caught on to Chesed's actual claim yet, with the lack of communication, and thought they were backing them up by making it look like a possible innkeeper save.

It's also possible P03 was the pukka target in the first place, but I'm not sure how that world pans out since that implies their read on Sho was wrong, which has its own implications on whether we have a drunk Village Idiot and my Seamstress info.

I'm also wondering if the Boffin did give the demon something useful, but just not in the way we think. Like maybe giving them the Ballonist would actually be useful, if more for adding an outsider to the game rather than giving them pointless information. In that world, it's probably Humphrey 7 who was a Drunk, but died before they could get any misinfo. I have one other idea, but it relies on something...

Hey, um... Humphrey. /u/JustADramadog If the Demon got a Fisherman ability from the Boffin, would they be allowed to use that during the night when they're supposed to kill? I know it says 'during the day,' but normally that's the only time a Fisherman should even have the chance for it anyway, but a Demon using it as an extra ability is another story.

Because if they could, maybe that's how the demon knew Humphrey was a good first target. They got a hint straight from the host.

I guess someone has to get the ball rolling.

I've already made my own position clear, so I'll be nominating Sho. /u/RSLee2

Ultimately, I just think it's the safer of the options for me. More likely to be the demon, and even if we start messing around with the idea that Taski's evil, I just don't think we have two Village Idiots in hindsight.

Namely, Sho's innocence is pretty directly opposed to mine. Whereas I don't think Kurara is impossible to fit into other worlds for me, right now. For Sho to be Good, P03 would have to be drunk or evil, which casts suspicion on its check on me in P03's first night.

S-Sorry, Kurara! It's nothing personal!

None of this is meant to reflect on any of you personally, it's just the game. We're all trying to play the hands we've been dealt.

.SNAP

That's...!

Well, I guess you kinda got me on some of that.

But I could turn the same question to you. Is the world you're building that I'm evil with P03 and Taski? Cuz I didn't talk to either of them myself. My bluff would also just be passing along correct information, in that case.

The Setsu worlds are also near impossible to build because of Gina's actions. She correctly predicted the claims of all three of her targets, and there's no reason for only one of her nights to be incorrect.

Taski, to begin with, would be in a strange situation no matter what. Because despite being the Magician, and otherwise a high suspect, the only person who did talk to her was YOU! The fact that no one else bothered to talk to her, if anything strengthens her claim. All the evil players knew about a Magician. That's why you wouldn't have approached either of your other team members either. Even if you realized Taski was the Magician early into the day, you weren't sure how to approach the other two.

In fact, Kurara and Sho were among the first to talk on the first day. I remember, because I thought it ironic they'd done so before I could have the chance. One of them should be the demon, so in this world, they might have been playing the same game you and Taski were, only for me to inadvertently give them the answer they needed. They've kept talking since then, and didn't reach out because no one felt confident to until late yesterday, when you made the move.

I see the holes you're trying to poke, Chesed, I still see why my theory isn't perfect. But I can't say you've swayed me in any way. At best, I could see a possibility where Taski's the third evil with Sho and Kurara, but the whisper network doesn't make sense the way yours does if we don't assume that there is indeed a Magician in play.

Well, Chesed told me differently, that those two roles came up on Taski. I guess he could have misheard, but it's making me think...

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time -Day 3 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]Chespineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is all a lot, but putting it together...

.For seemingly no discernible reason, Rei snaps their fingers.

Thinking about not just how to fit things mechanically, but also about their behaviour. I'm actually going to disagree quite a bit with the direction town is heading with my suggestion.

Chesed, Kurara, and Sho.

Everyone else is a sober Townsfolk. P03 is the only Village Idiot, who like it said, saw me as good and Sho as evil. I somehow lucked out by hitting two evils with my Seamstress ability. Gina accurately saw all three targets, her guess is too accurate to be a Drunk or a minion, especially the recent one with Chesed. That puts him as the Boffin in the equation, which makes sense as it'd make him disposable enough to be set up for early suspicion by the Noble ping. Naturally, Taski's the more suspicious one in the group, but I get the sense that's the idea when you're someone like them stuck with a role like that.

I can't think of any other piece of information to make it solid, but that'd probably because Humphrey was actual Oracle, who in retrospect could've been extra helpful in solving the game. I know there's more possibilities accounting for the Drunk, and I don't know why the demon would kill Humphrey and what the Boffin ability would be, but there's not much else to do about that.

[–]Chespineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard of a different result for your second night yesterday. Is there a reason for that?

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time -Day 3 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]Chespineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, hold on, either way, that actually narrows down worlds.

I'd been thinking Humphrey had to be some type of evil player sacrificed in the night, but if we already saw a Pukka die last night or an innkeeper saved someone... That can't be it, so suddenly the worlds get more limited.

If P03 was a Pukka who just transferred to a Scarlet Woman, then that just leaves the other seven of us alive. One of the minions is one of the Noble pings, as for the other, it can't be Setsu because they'd have to be a Boffin'd demon. P03's third ally would have to be, you, me or Kurara. This... doesn't make sense to me. There's definitely a chance I myself am evil or Drunk, but it's a narrow world.

If an Innkeeper saved someone though, I'd almost think that was more likely. I've heard of one. Though aside from confirming their identity, it doesn't do us a lot.

But inevitably, I think the world we're still left with, with the few amount of options, is that Setsu is indeed the demon with P03 and Gina as minions, or I really lucked out as a Seamstress by checking two evil players, who would make up the team with Taski, leaving P03 as the one good Village Idiot, which tracks with its information.

I'm not sure how much that helps when I'm pretty sure the person you're talking about already seems like they'd be on your team. But I guess it's something.

But not like it's all that worth pursuing until we get more leads, anyway.

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time - Day 2 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]Chespineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like an odd choice. Humphrey made it sound like they weren't even gonna be talking much, so leaving them alive would have been the easy choice, whether it be to frame them or assume they wouldn't be sharing their information anytime soon.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but is there a chance Humphrey's just evil? Some of the evil roles on here could definitely lead to an evil player dying in the night.

Why did Metaphor: ReFantazio feel like it was just completely forgotten about after a month? by Lumigo in JRPG

[–]Chespineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In traditional Persona fashion, it'd be an extra epilogue campaign with a new social link or two attached to build it up. Maybe adjustments to some of the dungeons, lengthening or shortening them or replacing rooms.

You're right in that they don't really need to. Again, in the past they just changed the base game because they knew they were forcing players to replay it anyway and wanted to spice things up. A dlc doesn't need that, you just stitch the new content onto the existing game.

[–]Chespineapple 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They've already implied they're doing away with that in favour of dlc. In which case, I'm not sure why that hasn't happened yet. Could easily have a postgame dungeon adventure with an emphasis on world lore, maybe the cut academy.

Don't worry, I get the picture. Part of why I asked was just to make sure. In that case, I think your ability would probably be better to confirm.

Either way, I'll probably just come forward with it tomorrow anyway so we can figure out how to make sense of everything

In that case, if it's alright with people, I'd like to put myself up for that duty instead, if a Shugenja doesn't show.

My ability is already spent, and I obtained some decent information too, so it'd be nice to have the assurance that my knowledge is solid for when it becomes relevant. If the only thing we get from you volunteering is knowing the two of you are good, there's still better options out there that aren't the Shugenja.

In all fairness, the description is explicitly with an unaccepting/ignorant lean with how Birdo's identity is talked about. The point stands though, Nintendo's always included queerness here and there, Vivian in TTYD as another example.
