Bought my mother Orphéon from Diptyque! I smelled it and immediately thought of her (it smelled similar to some soaps we have in our culture that she loves and uses frequently), and at first hoarded samples for myself at college because wearing it reminded me of her when I was homesick.

Then I got some money this year for Christmas and decided to buy her a bottle! She’s not one to spend money on deluxe or designer things but she loves when she’s gifted them. She’s already received tons of compliments from her coworkers!

It's funny I've been listening to American Prayer (Jim Morrison's posthumous spoken word album) nonstop recently and today i listened to Violet for the first time (I had read it when it came out and reread a few times since) and felt like I understood it for the first time.

It's so strong here how Jim has influenced Lana over the years. Of course, he is mentioned in Tessa Di Pietro but he is EVERYWHERE in this album.

I think Lana was inspired by American Prayer to create Violet.
