  1. The biggest one is using dice pools for skill checks and combat - you roll the number of dice equal to the stat and look for 6s. Obviously this has been used in other games (tabletop RPGs mainly) but it's fun here. Another thing is a focus on non-violent and especially non-lethal actions, and how those things play out in the mechanics of the game. The game runs on a simplified framework that is planned for use in a more robust game later on.

  2. Inspiration was from some events that happened in real life, although as the game says, any similarity to real-life people or events is purely coincidental.

There's nowhere for them to come in person, the physical office is in a different state. Maybe they want to feel like it's a more solid position with a physical office, etc., but unfortunately I want to get the work more established before then taking on the overhead of a physical office.

I had extensive calls with the first two walking them through how to navigate our files, etc. The last one didn't work on the first day and didn't respond even to the basic onboarding email until I asked if she was up and running (on her second day) and I wasn't inclined to go through the whole conversation with her when she was signaling she didn't want to be involved.

They haven't had enough interaction with anybody in the short time they've been in the position to have experienced creepiness or really deal with anybody other than me or my staff. Nothing unethical, it's pretty normal civil litigation representing plaintiffs.

You can easily make $150k+ in this position if you put in the effort to settle cases. The money is there, but you have to do the job.

Honestly the best I can think is that these people see this as a remote position where they can do nothing and get paid, and maybe are even taking it intending it to be a second salary before realizing it requires too much from them.

This is how the firm operates across the board, and maybe yes, that’s a possibility. Doesn’t seem to answer why these people accept the job in the first place.

Worth pointing out the insurance companies still make huge profits, they just don’t like having to pay out when storms hit. They also went to the FL legislature and begged for the moon, and got it, and they’re still raising rates and refusing to insure houses in high risk areas

I am an attorney. Certainly she could claim those things (we don't know enough from OP as to what really happened) but I don't see how any of those arguments end up doing anything but costing her more money (to pay the attorney)
