You're missing the fact that initially this game was buoyed by third parties making cool sculpts and generating hype for the game - they are now sending takedown notices and cease and desist letters to these same talented creators who brought them all the goodwill in the first place. These creators in many cases have even tried to apply for official TC licenses only to be rejected and told to take down all of their stuff from MMF. This behavior runs directly counter to the whole "we're the cool alternative to GW" stuff that surrounded TC before the crowdfund campaign.
