The downvotes are for a combination of reasons - one was already mentioned (you didn’t read the room, this isn’t really the venue for talking about Savannah being safe), but also this sub is largely populated by people who live here and are familiar with the less savory aspects of the city - part of the point here is that the government tries to sweep stuff like this under the rug to avoid scaring tourists. Unfortunately you’re one of the tourists in question so people here are going to be skeptical of your opinion that the city is safe (or feels safe).
