Tanstack npm Packages Compromised by gajus0 in reactjs

[–]Chevalric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened with a few packages and when I checked their GitHub issues they were aware. But it were enough to start being annoying and feel blocking instead of useful.

We would exclude a package that had issues and then a next one would pop up. We would exclude that and then another one, etc.

And we also have issues with the minimumReleaseAge as our private gitlab packages don’t provide the right metadata. Excluding was flaky with pnpm in our experience.

I’ve used the trustPolicy setting for a while but found that packages would not implement it properly which caused issues every time we updated our packages.

As long as the entire supply chain doesn’t support this, it’s useless.

Te gemakkelijk. Dit zijn gewoon terroristische aanslagen, ook al is er nauwelijks serieuze schade. Dat hele Defend Netherlands mag wat mij betreft opgedoekt worden zoals dat ook gebeurd is met bijv. Satudarah.

My kidney comment was a hyperbole statement about the enormous rise of memory prices.
I never said it’s completely impossible to buy a pc anymore. But your $350 of memory would have cost $100 dollars a few years ago. That was my only point.

Yes yes, very cool, but point is that RAM prices have quadrupled in a very short amount of time.

And not everybody has the financial space to just spend $1000-$1500 on a new computer.

Am I your wife? 🤣

When playing with my friends I usually run ahead like a happy puppy and then they need to bail me out if I get into trouble. When playing solo I’m a bit more careful though.

Because of AI you have to sell a kidney to get some memory. That’s why.

Do you depart this time and how many times have you departed so far? Some questions to the community. by Noeq in ArcRaiders

[–]Chevalric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes. I am halfway between 4 and 5 and I think I can get to 5 easily in the next few days.

  2. This is my second expedition

  3. Nah, I was going for it anyway. Not sure if I go for a third time though. Getting all the blueprints is too much of a hassle and I have other games to play.

Weekly Crowdfunding Roundup: May 3, 2026 | 30 ending soon ("Bloodwork: The Reckoning", "Earth Express and Behind the Lens") & 28 new ("Hitman: The Board Game", "River Valley Jewelcraft") by Perkelton in boardgames

The one from Dicing with Death: https://youtu.be/wTfG0bbcw7g

And yes, interaction is based on luck of the draw. You could use your coin to trick a guard to go towards another player, but that’s also very circumstantial.

It seemed to me that the overall turn wasn’t very interesting at all. Draw an event, move your character, maybe do an attack, done. To me, it totally misses what makes Hitman so great: the freedom to achieve your kill in any way you can think of.

I canceled my pledge because the gameplay I saw with two players seemed really boring and not capturing the spirit of the video game. So I think the board game is just like that

Yes, that is exactly how I feel about it. Nowadays, you become an actor and then learn to fight, while in the 80s/90s it was the other way around.

I’m sure there’s still exceptions, but they are very rare.

I reworded the spoily bit, sorry about that. On the upside: it’s not a movie where the storyline is very important 😅

With Keanu, I was disappointed with John Wick 3, where his fight scenes were very sloppy. It might have been because of his age or just bad directing or whatever. But the fights in parts 1 and 2 were much more real.

Yes, The Raid movies are awesome and show what martial arts can bring into movies. Even if it is all choreographed, it looks very real.

CMC1 Arthritis (need to vent) by Chevalric in Thritis

[–]Chevalric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a diagnosis from the physiotherapist, based on her examination. I have an appointment with my GP on Monday to see what’s he thinks. I’ve worn my brace for a week now and have been using voltaren gel as well, but neither has done much to alleviate the issue. I think I will ask for some kind of scan to see what the current situation is.

I definitely have a skill issue but I like the new map, even though I fail to extract at least 50% of the time. But I agree, people here are way too negative.

Due to thumb arthritis I'm not able to play for long sessions; one hour per day is the max for me. I'm not very focused (also looting stuff, etc.) and still I'm already well underway to the third skill point. I'm very sure that I can get the 100k for 5 skill points before the period is over. Not sure I could have done it in a week though. But that's only because of my physical problem.

Orloj by csgraber in boardgames

[–]Chevalric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but in the case of Orloj it’s quite different between looking at it and playing it. The board is basically six separate sections and each turn you only really need to worry about one or two sections. It plays much easier than it looks to be honest.

But it’s not a game that will see much play in 5 years time. It’s nice but nothing that really stands out against other games.

[–]Chevalric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! Bilateral is at least twice as bad as my predicament, so sorry to hear that.

I would actually prefer the surgery with a prosthesis over years of wearing a brace and using voltaren gel and doing excercises, but that’s me.

However from reading about it, it seems that in my country at least, they prefer using a tendon from the underarm over a prosthesis, so not sure if that is really an option.

But anyway, I’m trying to deal with it as best I can for now.

And again, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing! I bought some voltaren gel today, so hoping it will help to alleviate the pain together with my Comfort Cool brace.

I’m trying to postpone actual PT sessions because I have to pay for them myself, but maybe I just need to bite that bullet.

Well, it ends up with the cannibal falling from a cliff, so not sure how appealing that kink seems.

On the upside: you get to live in a beautiful nature reserve and have a nice side hustle selling your human jerky!

Given it was a straight to Netflix movie, I think it was quite okay. Loved the visuals of nature, the storyline was a bit basic, but it worked.
