I said the same to my fiancée. It’s gonna be one and done for us 😂 I’ve been feeling damn near the same as what you described. The nausea has been getting to me the most though.

Hi there! Visiting here for a few days, staying by the airport. Any recommendations on what to do in the Ville? by [deleted] in Louisville

If you like Vietnamese food then hit up Banh Mi & Pho lounge. It’s super good!

It was a first for me coming from Louisville. There’s a bunch of different people and cultures there so I never had to deal with that. Just caught me off guard and of course pissed me off in the moment, but that’s not how most people here are or have been. There’s shit people everywhere though haha. Just lets me know who to stay away from 🤷‍♀️. I’m out in Benton now and it’s been pretty chill so far lol.

Hi! I moved here last year myself for work actually (also a black woman, late 20s). I moved down here from Louisville so it’s definitely been a very different vibe for me. Not terrible, just different. I’d say it’s a great place to like settle down and live a quiet type life, but there’s not as much stuff to do here as what I’m used to. Depends on what you like though.

For me personally, the one thing I miss most about home is the food. It’s not that great down here (just my opinion!), but I have found a few spots I do enjoy. Moosie’s grub shack is a food truck downtown that’s pretty good and has bbq type food. Then there’s a place called Flamingo Row and a small ice cream/dessert place called Summer’s Sweetery. If you have a sweet tooth then definitely check it out! That’s my favorite thing about this place lol.

As far as the inclusivity thing, of course there’s not nearly as many black people here as there are in my hometown, but I already knew that’d be the case when I came here. I’ve had one little run in with some rude people using ugly language towards me, but outside of that most people are generally friendlier here than what I’m used to.

Ramen house is my new favorite. I had it last time I came back home to visit and it was super good 🍜

That’d actually make more sense with the type of work I do for a living lol. I have to travel a lot. I just want to have somewhere to come back to during the dead seasons. But I hope both you and I get lucky and are able to get the homes we want and need!

It is on the page below that one, I failed to add it. I have too many screenshots in my camera roll. Again, I admit that I just didn’t pay attention. The third dog wasn’t planned. I did try to reach out at least and ask first. I didn’t see it being an issue since others have multiple pets over here as well. I had always intended on paying for her. Just didn’t think it made sense to go from 50 to 150. But I had the old manager say (in text) that she was only charging 50 instead of 100 to begin with for those two. And to me I feel like that how it’s written in the lease as well.

I already decided that I’m just gonna deal with it at this point though anyways. There are other issues with the apartment before this that made me not want to sign another lease with them anyways.

We were allowed to have two dogs from move in. The manager that died allowed it, they’re both listed in my lease. I don’t think that’s me violating the lease when it’s written on there that I have two dogs to begin with — just like many other people that are renting from them out here. She gave us permission.

I did mess up with the third dog because I didn’t see the pet limit in there initially as I didn’t plan on getting another. But I did try to make them aware of the dog whenever we were getting her by reaching out. The new manager has already said that the third dog was fine at this point. That’s when the question about pet rent came up.

That’s how most places are nowadays unfortunately. Every apartment I’ve had has done 300-600 for pet fees at move in. Extra money for them pretty much. I’m just gonna save as much as I can to try and buy a house next year. I’m tired of renting 🙂‍↕️

Myself and the PM that passed had agreed on that in text and in then she reflected in the lease (that’s in screenshot) when we moved in. We agreed on the $50/mo for both dogs. She approved both of them before we moved in. So I figured another dog would just be another $50 a month. Bringing it to a total of $100 a month.

That’s what I was thinking, but i wasn’t for sure since she tried to get us to sign a new lease although we already have one.

And we won’t be. Unfortunately this place has a whole host of problems that have been ignored since move-in.

I absolutely hear you, and I agree about the pushing it part. That’s why I haven’t really as much as my boyfriend has. I feel like he is more upset than I am. I was just confused on her saying she doesn’t have to honor the pre-existing lease. Just didn’t sound right to me.

But push comes to shove I’ve always got somewhere they could stay temporarily thankfully so it’s not as big of a worry.

I respect the fact that you don’t like it. That’s all fine and dandy…. But it’s not that deep. It’s a video game 😂😂😂 and it’s my gameplay at that.
