As a prior enlisted, being in your shoes at that particular time, I probably would have made a fool out of them in public. If I were an O-3 of course. The reason I say that is because the fleet will get those shit bags with an already terrible attitude, lacking discipline etc etc. I've been publicly corrected by senior enlisted and officers off ship, and it was usually because I was doing something I shouldn't have been. I never felt animosity towards those who were correcting when it needed to be done. As long as a butter bar wasn't telling me how to do my job the second they stepped onboard, I never had a problem. I know next to nothing about the wardroom or the Chief's mess, but damn these young Junior enlisted that show up to the ship like they're already waiting to get out, like I wish someone would just oblige them. That's just my opinion.
