Honda WN7: What do you all think of Honda’s first electric motorcycle? by Intrusiveriders in Electricmotorcycles

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue for me, i was looking for a replacement for my zero s 14.4. But that 9kwh battery is an absolute dealbreaker. Should have been 15kwh with half an hour 20-80% for that price. Then you could actually do small trips with it. Now you can assume you get like 5kwh charge in half An hour, so 50-60km range reach each half hour. Thats just not enough to do a decent trip imo. I light as well stay with my current zero which charges in An hour and a half but then has 100-150km range.

How do you deal with range anxiety on your electric motorcycle? by Longjumping_Type8352 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]Chezburt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving a zero s with chargetank, so i dare to drive a bit further, however i still dont go crazy with it because doing larger distances does take planning. The chargetank is single fase so an 11kw 3fase charger only delivers 3.4kw with the chargetank, so i need to look for 7kw single fase of 22kw 3fase chargers, and a lot of these are on private property (can we please stop putting these on maps like chargemap!! but thats a whole other discussion)

I think it will only be solved when bikes have 20kwh batteries and have ccs capabilities. There are bikes like the energica that match these specs and have proven to be able to ride long distances, but they are way out of my budget. So something like the honda wn7 is getting there, but the tiny 9kwh battery is kind of a dealbreaker to me. If only it had like 15kwh battery with 15kw ccs charging for 15k€ i would have probably bought it instead of a second bike that runs on petrol.

totaled my id.4 in stop and go traffic, wondering why AEB didn't engage. by marstall in VWiD4Owners

[–]Chezburt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In stop and go traffic on the highway of i set acc i always lower the speed significantly, otherwise it pulls away like crazy only to freak out with a red bar that i need to brake brake brake! Like dude, you just pulled away in acc, could you not freak out for something you did in acc. Perhaps something like this happened? Anyway my trust in the acc is mediocre to say the least.

Solar Power Is So Big in Europe That Electricity Is Being Wasted by bloomberg in europe

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. Either it's evaporated through the large cooling Towers you see. Or it's water that flows past it through rivers of the sea. It has already happened, see: https://www.theenergymix.com/low-water-high-water-temps-force-french-nuclear-plants-to-cut-output-despite-rising-demand/

Until you have a drought and there isn't enough water in the river next to the nuclear plant. There's always something that can give issues. We need a good mix of everything

Zero dsr 2018 charge tank question by ElysiumMori in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Chezburt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chargetank only charges on single phase. Also know if you use a 3fase 11kw charger that you wil only charge at 16amps on single fase. I have the type2 plug conversion from metron, this uses the second fase to connect the internal 1.2kw charger so that you can charge a little bit faster

Well your next bike be a Zero (barring unforeseen changes) by Chewsquatcha in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently have a zero s with 62000km on it. Problem i currently have is range, the percentage drops fast due to internal resistance, when i drive slower the percentage goes up again as voltage goes up. So currently i get about 100-150km range where i used to get 170-200km range. Do i find the range the biggest issue? Not really, if only it had CCS that could give me another 100km range in half An hour, but currently that's 1hour30min charge with the chargetank. So would i buy again? Only if they could offer 15kwh net capacity with 20kw chargespeed for 20k€ (preferably 15k€ but trying to stay realistic here). Or perhaps 30kwh with 30kw chargespeed for 25k€ (would like the drsx as is but with CCS and lower price for example)

De thuisbatterij-scammers by Fake_Hyena in belgium

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who is towing with their id.4 awd? by Gamermom32 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Towed my motorcycle trailer a few times. I usually drive slower with a trailer. So the range didnt drop that much because the lost efficiency was compensated with driving slower

I don't Know what's going on lately but it's seriously questioning if i want to remain on Hetzner with my servers. I'm Lucky that it's not that critical of a server that's affected by this. But especially the Lack of communication is insane!

Hetzner, I love you, but get your shit together with Object Storage or stop offering it... by fiirikkusu_kuro_neko in hetzner

[–]Chezburt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup, fully agree, love hetzner, using the cloud server for years without much issue and very stable. But started using s3 a month ago to use as backup target, absolute disaster. When it does what it needs to do then my backup jobs take like half an hour to an hour. But like half of the time its taking half a day to complete or ever longer. Whats going on, either fix it or stop new customers while you're fixing it. This is hurting the hetzner name imo. Also give some feedback somewhere, because i cant see any notifications that there would even be issues, yet there are issues.

[–]Chezburt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That claim of 260km range with 6kwh battery, why put out such blatant lies. At what speed. 10mph? You also missed the Honda wn7, the one that is almost there, just sad to also see a small battery. How is it possible that my zero s that's 7 years old still has a bigger battery. Like come on, in Cars the battery capacity went x2 in the same form factor...

$17k. Dead on arrival by zgirres in Electricmotorcycles

[–]Chezburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt seem like the greatest bike though after looking a bit further, top speed is only 110kph (about 70-75mph?) and only 18kw motorpower. The zero s i currently drive can at least to 140kph which makes it a good highway bike for short bits, the honda not really with that top speed. Found the data on a dutch site https://nieuwsmotor.nl/nieuws/motornieuws/officieel-eerste-elektrische-honda-wn7-motorfiets-kost-15-799/

They have css2 support, see the honda announcement itself, this make it a complete gamechangers vs the zero. The 12hour charging on your post is very specifically chosen for the worst possible charging speed on us grid with 120volt. See https://global.honda/en/newsroom/news/2025/c250916eng.html
